FanDuel Studs: Our Best DFS Lineup Picks for Fantasy Football

By Keith Allison (Flickr) [CC-BY-SA-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons

Real Talk Raph discusses FanDuel studs and his best DFS lineup picks from Week 10, as he helps you find fantasy football sleepers and win your FanDuel weekly NFL leagues.

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our DFS Lineup Picks of the Week Newsletter with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football on FanDuel.  We also have lots of great FanDuel analysis weekly, so be sure to check back.

Why We Love Weekly FanDuel Football

Are you looking for some more fantasy football action, and want to get involved in weekly DFS games on FanDuel and DraftKings? I know I am. Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is sporting a lackluster record through the first ten weeks of the 2014 NFL season? Are you not that happy with the team you drafted this year in fantasy football? Maybe you are a frustrated Adrian Peterson, Victor Cruz, Nick Foles, Giovani Bernard or C.J. Spiller owner (just to mention a few on the vast list of disappointments). Is your fantasy team already eliminated or on its way to being out of contention? Well we have the perfect remedy for your fantasy football appetite.

The weekly formats of FanDuel and DraftKings fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered. Draft a new team each week, and battle it out against your friends or as many opponents as you please. It's my favorite way to supplement my fantasy football teams, and plug-and-play guys that I wish I owned in my leagues on a weekly basis. After all there's nothing like owning Matt Forte or Aaron Rodgers for one week, when you missed out on them in all of your season-long fantasy football leagues.

Looking for An Edge?

If you play salary cap leagues on FanDuel or DraftKings, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need to win. Each week we analyze the player matchups, and the associated pricing on FanDuel / DraftKings, to identify the sleepers and value picks to put together a winning lineup. With each newsletter, you will receive our well-researched weekly picks for each position, with both a “Strong Play” and a “Value Play”, and we will also include two or three budget buster tournament plays for each position. All in all, you will be receiving a minimum of 12 of our expertly hand-picked recommendations for your gaming pleasure!

We’ve reprinted some of RotoBaller’s lineup picks from last week’s subscribers-only exclusive newsletter to give you an idea of the FanDuel analysis that we put forward each and every week. As you can see below, our experts had some sweet recommendations for Week 10, so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there’s still plenty of time for Week 11 and beyond.

A Recap of Some DFS Lineup Picks from Week 10

QB (23rd Highest Price) - Mark Sanchez ($6,600) - Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch takes the helm of Chip Kelly's fast paced offense for the next 6-8 weeks because Nick Foles cracked his twiggy collarbone early in Week 9's contest.

Now we know most of you Jets fans are cringing and puking in your collective mouths over the thought of this recommendation, but hear us out before you bypass this sneaky tournament-busting option for Week 10.

We absolutely love the upside that "The Sanchize" brings to the table versus the Panthers defense that's allowed a weekly average of 19.48 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. To make the case better, he put up a respectable stat line (202 passing yard and 2 touchdowns) versus a tougher Houston team in Week 9 that allows much fewer points per week to opposing quarterbacks.

Ultimately, our projected 18.5+ FanDuel points for Week 10 should leave you with enough savings to pair this sleeper with his top option Jeremy Maclin (who is finally a bit too pricy to recommend as a sleeper again in Week 10), or even our strong wide receiver sleeper recommendation listed below.

Result: 332 passing yards, 4 rushing yards, 2 TD  - BULLSEYE

QB (5th Highest Price) - Ben Roethlisberger ($8,300) - Yes RotoBallers, we gave you a juicy Big Ben green light in Week 8, then went back to the well with supreme analytical confidence in Week 9. Now in Week 10 we present you with yet another opportunity for this undervalued DFS quarterback to earn his salary plus a little extra.

The Steelers face a lowly Jets defense that allows the most points on average versus fantasy quarterbacks thus far in 2014, 21.59 per game. Even a putrid signal caller could have a 15-18 point performance against gang-green's 10th worst rated pass coverage unit, but the veteran Super Bowl winner also takes the highest ratings out of any quarterback, based on Pro Football Focus, into this juicy matchup.

Don't be surprised if this man-on-fire continues to scorch his opponents in Week 10, so don't be scared to save some money on the big names like Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers by plugging Big Ben into your FanDuel mix.

Result: 343 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INT - HIT

WR (Strong) - Julio Jones ($8,000) - It's certainly time for this first round fantasy draft pick to start delivering on his hype in 2014. We absolutely believe Week 10 versus the Buccaneers will be his re-breakout performance as Tampa comes into Week 10 allowing the most points per week to fantasy wide receivers, 30.82 on average.

We already know that Tampa has the third worst pass coverage unit as graded by Pro Football Focus, so there is no better time than now to get an undervalued WR1 into your FanDuel lineup before his price re-inflates.

You may consider pairing Mr. Jones and Mr. Ryan for a juicy shot at fantasy football glory in Week 10, but even if you decide to bypass the Falcons tandem, please don't sleep on this sure-shot to go bonkers against the team he burned for 2 touchdowns and 161 yards earlier this season in Week 3.

Result: 8 receptions, 119 receiving yards - BULLSEYE

WR (Value) - Kelvin Benjamin ($6,700) - Megatron Jr. is now starting to become as reliable as a WR2 with huge upside as they come. He's reminds us a bit of Josh Gordon during his first breakout season, but let's focus on more responsible athletes who will actually take the field in Week 10 for the moment.

Kelvin was drafted to replace Steve Smith as the WR1 for Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers and all he's done is flat out deliver on the hype. In Week 10, this emerging stud faces the Philadelphia Eagles 4th worst defense versus fantasy wide receivers allowing 27.50 points per week on average.

While he averages the 16th most FanDuel points per week out of all eligible wide receivers, he is priced 17th overall and clearly has even more room to return on your potential investment against the Eagles below average pass coverage unit (as graded out by Pro Football Focus) that has allowed the 5th most receiving touchdowns in the NFL thus far in 2014.

Result: 7 receptions, 70 receiving yards, 2 TDs - BULLSEYE

WR (Budget Buster) - Brandin Cooks ($6,400) - He's already averaging 10.9 FanDuel points per game as a rookie and that includes a few dud outings, but Week 10 versus the San Francisco 49ers is shaping up to be a nice sleeper potential game for the speedy new favorite target of Drew Brees.

Cooks has especially thrived thus far in his 3 home games this season as he's averaged a very nice 15.93 FanDuel points and 7.66 receptions in those contests. The 49ers still give up 23.23 fantasy points per week to opposing wide receivers (14th worst in the league), so we think Brandin Cooks makes a great contrarian tournament play for Week 10, or even a pretty safe cash game bet as a WR2-WR3 with upside.

Result: 8 receptions, 90 receiving yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

RB (Strong) - Marshawn Lynch ($8,300) - It almost pains our hearts to have to recommend a dude we aren't in love with (mostly because he thinks Skittles are part of the primary food groups), but Week 10 versus the New York Giants presents a saliva-inducing opportunity to run out a strong DFS play that may be slightly undervalued. Priced as the 5th most expensive running back, those looking to secure some cash game glory should look no further than "Beast Mode" as he's one of the more reliable DFS options, and comes in averaging the 5th most points per week amongst his peers. Ultimately, if you want a true RB1 in a very strong matchup, against a team giving up an average of 21.85 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, then Seattle's lame duck stud is your man.

Result: 140 rushing yards, 1 reception, 23 receiving yards, 4 TDs - BULLSEYE

Mychal Rivera ($5,700) - He's far from the sexiest option on the board, but we're surely not here recommending Julius Thomas and Jimmy Graham as value picks. Let's get the DFS tight end sleeper show started with Raider's great Mychal Rivera. He's facing off against a Broncos defense that allows the 7th most average points per week to opposing tight ends (10.30), so don't feel so strange when you need to use him as a budget busting option.

Result: 8 receptions, 64 receiving yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

Green Bay Packers - ($4,500) - Although the Packers are middle of the road in team defense, they are facing off against the Chicago Bears who have been bleeding out a healthy 8.5 fantasy points per game to opposing defenses.

This contest will be played at home and the Packers seem to own Jay Cutler historically as he comes in with a 67.0 QB rating, and a 13:19 touchdown to interception ratio over nine games played against Green Bay throughout his career. Ultimately you want a team with good upside when the bye week crunch occurs, and the hot Packers team is poised to shut down the struggling Chicago Bears offense in Week 10.

At the very worst we think 2-3 interceptions and a couple of sacks will ultimately be the counting stats to help this basement dollar option along. If Green Bay is on their best game, they may also hold Chicago to less than 20 points scored and put up most of the 53 total points Las Vegas projects for this contest.

Ultimately the Packers are our strongest sleeper option for Week 10 of fantasy football, so if you want to spend the absolute minimum on your FanDuel defense, we absolutely love the playmaking Packers as the surprise pick of the week.

Result: 4 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, 1 TD - BULLSEYE  (17 fantasy points)
