FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (5/2/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 5/2/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

It's a lighter night in the Association with only seven games going on. This slate is littered with questionable tags and teams that have nothing to play for. How do we sift through this? All I can do is say that I'll make my best educated guess that the Lakers don't push LeBron and Anthony Davis. They probably wont push Dennis Schroder either.

Kyle Lowry is resting, but Toronto still has a puncher's chance at getting into the playoff for the playoffs. It could be time to take a look at their guards again. The Spurs could be a little thin at guard as well, so we have enough value to choose from inside of the inevitable value that will show up at some point before (or five minutes after) lock.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/2/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard, forward, and center on FanDuel, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. You can also check out DraftKings lineup picks and injury news before lineups lock. Good luck, RotoBallers.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Luka Doncic, PG – vs. Sacramento ($10,600)

The Kings are not a good defensive team, and even though the Mavs are on night two of a back-to-back set, I still think Luka plays. He triumphantly returned with 74.4 FanDuel points against the hapless Wizards last night. Dallas is currently tied for the fifth spot. That could be the difference between playing the Clippers or Nuggets in the first round. On second thought, maybe they do rest Luka. Stay tuned. If he plays though, I'm running him.

DeMar DeRozan, SG – vs. Philadelphia ($8,800)

Derrick White has already been ruled out and Dejounte Muray is questionable. If both are out, DeRozan could be in line for a night of heavy usage. I'll love the Patty Mills immediate value play, but DeRozan will take an absurd amount of shots. Philly doesn't cover the wings well anyway. DeRozan put up 61 FanDuel points against Boston on Friday, his third outing of more than 50 in the last four games. DeRozan looks like a really nice value tonight.

Cody Martin, SG – vs. Miami ($5,000)

Martin should get some nice run with Devonte' Graham out and Malik Monk likely on a minutes limit if he plays at all. Martin is the model of efficiency most nights, but his shot at a ceiling game comes when the Hornets are missing players. They are without Graham, Gordon Hayward, and Monk is limited at best. The price is right on Martin tonight.

Also consider: Chris Paul ($8,200), Devin Booker ($7,800), Derrick Rose ($6,200), Lonnie Walker ($4,600)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Jayson Tatum, PF – vs. Portland ($10,100)

Everything screams "PLAY TATUM" tonight, so I'm fully prepared for him to let me down again. The fact is that Tatum has 95 real points (that's not a typo) in the last two games while tipping the scales with 136.7 FanDuel points. This is a superb matchup on paper against Portland that is still struggling defending forwards. I have to run Tatum just because, but this is fair warning to the rest of you. Every time I do, he flops.

OG Anunoby, SF – at Lakers ($7,400)

OG has at least 35 FanDuel points in five straight games and six of the last seven. In the one he missed, OG still hit 32. He has as high of a floor as anyone at this point of the season and has a chance at another good game with Lowry out. Watch out for a resting Fred VanVleet as well considering he played last night. At any rate. OG is one of the few options that looks safe.

Gabriel Deck, SF – vs. Phoenix ($3,600)

Another piece of the future has arrived from Real Madrid in the form of Deck. Deck was signed to a four year deal, so the Thunder want to see what they have. He put up a solid 25 FanDuel points in game two of his NBA career last night against the Pacers. Compared to the rest of the team, Deck is relatively fresh. He should be guaranteed solid minutes here once again.

Also consider: Jimmy Butler ($9,800), Kevin Porter Jr. ($7,700), Miles Bridges ($7,100), Carmelo Anthony ($4,700)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Bam Adebayo – at Charlotte ($8,300)

Look, I like Kelly Olynyk as much as the next guy, but $9,000 for him is just ridiculous. There's no way I'm paying that for him, especially against a team like the Knicks. That leaves Bam as the next best option with Miami trying to hang on to that six seed. This is a nice matchup for Bam, but with Jimmy Butler around, he wont have a ceiling game. However, 6x value feels likely.

Tristan Thompson – vs. Portland ($5,800)

Thompson has 73.6 FanDuel points over the last two contests. He gets another favorable matchup tonight against the Blazers. Like many on this list, Thompson doesn't have a huge ceiling since he is also splitting time. I do like this better than the idea of Enes Kanter revenge from the other side. Thompson is seeing good minutes and posting efficient stat lines.

Also consider: Jusuf Nurkic ($7,600), Khem Birch ($6,700), Nerlens Noel ($5,100)
