FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/5/19): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/5/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

The association features eight games on Saturday. As always, keep an eye on injuries as there are some big names who are in danger of not playing. In regards to Vegas, Golden State/Sacramento leads the slate with a projected combined total score of 238.5 points in addition to featuring a pace of 107 possessions, which is also the highest of the night.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/5/19. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

James Harden - SG, @ POR ($13,000)

Though I tend to gravitate towards games that feature a higher pace of play, Harden has been playing too well to pass up. Over the last 11 games, the reigning MVP hasn't accumulated less than 53.1 fantasy points and has also scored at least 35 points in his previous nine straight games. Without Chris Paul and Eric Gordon in the lineup, Harden will continue to see a healthy bump in offensive production, and though the Blazers held him in check in the middle of December, things should be different this time around. He is going to cost you, but he will be worth every penny.

Stephen Curry - PG, @ SAC ($10,100)

If you are worried about spending nearly 22 percent of your salary cap on a single player, as is the case with James Harden, you can save some dough by picking up Steph instead. He put up 60 fantasy points against the Kings back on December 14th, and with this game's projected combined overall score, Curry should be somewhere in that area again on Saturday night.

 

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Kevin Durant - SF, @ SAC ($10,100)

Just like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant should also find himself putting up some serious fantasy points against a Sacramento team that has given up a lot of points this season. In the first meeting of the season between these two clubs, Durant went 9-for-20 from the field and 4-for-8 from deep in addition to nearly sinking all 12 of his shots from the charity stripe. This game should be closer than expected which will keep Durant and most of the "Hamptons Five" on the court for a good chunk of the game.

Draymond Green - PF, @ SAC ($7,000)

In case you haven't noticed by this point, I am favoring the Golden State/Sacramento game. Draymond Green is generously priced on Saturday against a Kings team that allows the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing power forwards this season. His production from a fantasy standpoint has been inconsistent this season, but his ceiling is high enough on Saturday night to point me in this direction.

 

FanDuel DFS Centers

Willie Cauley-Stein - C, vs. GSW ($7,300)

From a matchup perspective, there aren't a lot of things to work with at the center spot on Saturday night. Willie Cauley-Stein has a favorable matchup against the Warriors, who are still anxiously awaiting the debut of DeMarcus Cousins. He put up his second-best fantasy performance of the season against the Warriors in December and until they get things squared away in the middle, and with this game expected to be a shootout, why not roll with Willie?
