FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/13/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/13/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. For those of you who aren't interested in the college football national championship game, the association has plenty of games scheduled to start off the week. We have some players to monitor on this seven-game slate, with Derrick Favors, Jrue Holiday, J.J. Redick, Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, Lauri Markkanen, Daniel Theis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Bismack Biyombo, Hassan Whiteside, D.J. Augustin, Aaron Gordon, Marvin Bagley, Harrison Barnes, Cory Joseph, Dante Exum, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Rajon Rondo all on the fence in regards to their availability on Monday night. On the other hand, Luke Kennard, Joel Embiid, Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter, Nerlens Noel, Jonathan Isaac, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Richaun Holmes, Blake Griffin and Larry Nance Jr. are all out.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/13/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Kemba Walker - PG, vs. CHI ($7,000)

Walker didn't exactly start off 2020 on the right foot. After missing his first three games of the new year with an illness, he made his return against the Spurs but was ejected after logging just 17 minutes. He did suit up against Philly the following night but suffered a thumb sprain that sent him to the locker room before eventually returning to the floor. He may only play around 30 minutes since he is a little banged up, but that is more than enough time for him to do some damage. Enjoy this discounted price now because it will likely increase throughout the week.

Bruce Brown - SG, vs. NOP ($4,900)

Brown will continue to play a hefty amount of minutes without Luke Kennard and Blake Griffin in the mix. He didn't play well against the Bulls on Saturday night after coming off of a 51.8 fantasy point performance against the Cavaliers in the game before, but since he was going into the matchup against Chicago with a minor thumb issue, we will give him a free pass on that one. This pick is obviously a little risky, but when you consider his price and the upside, you can afford to take a hit if he doesn't hit the five times value mark against the Pelicans. If you have some extra cash to spend, also consider Derrick Rose, who has accumulated at least 36.9 fantasy points in three of his last four outings.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Al Horford - PF, @ IND ($6,200)

Joel Embiid will be out for a few more weeks after having surgery to repair a torn ligament in his finger. In his absence, many players on the Sixers' roster will obviously see an increase from a statistical standpoint, with Horford coming to mind as the guy who will likely benefit the most. With Embiid not in the rotation, Horford will enjoy a massive 4.1 bump percent in usage while also gaining a +6.4 in the plus/minus category. In the two games that Embiid has missed thus far, the 33-year-old is averaging 40.65 fantasy points. He will start at the five once again on Monday night and will be up against a Pacers team that has allowed a seventh-worst 55.59 fantasy points per game to opposing big men on the year. Look for Tobias Harris to also see a noticeable improvement in production if you are looking for a favorable stacking opportunity.

Trevor Ariza - SF, vs. ORL ($4,700)

With the Kings dealing with some significant injuries, Ariza has been more involved. He has hit at least 31.4 fantasy points in each of his last three games and should continue to log a more significant workload with Richaun Holmes and Marvin Bagley not available. Don't forget about Nemanja Bjelica as well, who is averaging 35.25 fantasy points in his previous two outings.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Hassan Whiteside - C, vs. CHA ($10,000)

Whiteside did not play against the Milwaukee Bucks as a result of a respiratory infection, but he should be good to go against the Hornets on Monday night. Whiteside has been hot this season and is having arguably the best year of his career. Look for him to extend his double-double streak against Charlotte, a team that is allowing a league-worst 59.30 fantasy points per game to opposing centers this season.
