FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/18/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Justin Bales highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 9/18/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

After a large Monday slate, we have another massive Tuesday slate. There are 15 games today, but only 14 on the main slate. The other game features the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, but we will not be covering that game in this article.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/18/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

FanDuel DFS Pitcher

Jameson Taillon - P, vs KC ($9,400)

Taillon has been playing at a high level over his last 10 starts, recording a 7-2 record with a 2.49 ERA over that span. He has allowed two or fewer earned runs in eight of those games, and he gets a great matchup against the Kansas City Royals tonight. Taillon is a -195 favorite in a game set at only eight runs, as well.

Josh James - P, vs SEA ($5,500)

James is expected to draw the start tonight, but he isn't going to pitch overly long in this game. In his only start this season, he threw five innings (91 pitches), and he should be on a similar limit in this game. He's absurdly cheap for a pitcher that has posted a 14.4 K/9 early in his career. He gets a solid matchup against the Seattle Mariners in a pitcher friendly stadium. Jones is a -225 favorite in a game set at 7.5 runs, but he should strictly be used in GPPs until the Astros announce a pitch count for him.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Ji-Man Choi - C/1B, at TEX ($3,500)

Choi's numbers don't necessarily pop off the page, specifically his average, over his last 10 games, but he also owns 53% hard-hit and fly ball rates with a 94 mph exit velocity over the last 15 days. He gets a great matchup against Yovani Gallardo, and he will be playing in a hitter friendly stadium tonight. Choi is hitting third in the Rays lineup, adding to his upside and floor, as well.

Travis Shaw - 2B, vs CIN ($4,000)

Shaw is a powerful option, who gives you plenty of upside at second base. He has dominated right-handed pitching, and enters this game with 0.11 wOBA and 0.2 ISO differentials against righties. Shaw has been a more consistent and a more powerful option in Milwaukee this season, as well. He also gets a good matchup against Michael Lorenzen tonight.

Justin Turner - 3B, vs COL ($4,300)

Turner gets a tough matchup against Kyle Freeland, but he owns a .586 slugging percentage and a .232 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. He has been on fire over his last 10 games, as well, hitting .400 with a .629 slugging percentage and a 1.129 OPS over that span. The matchup could keep his ownership down a bit, making him a solid leverage play on a large slate.

Trevor Story - SS, at LAD ($3,600)

Story is in a similar position to Turner. He has dominated left-handed pitching this season, bringing a .688 slugging percentage and a .359 ISO against lefties into this game. He gets a matchup against one of the best left-handed pitchers in history - Clayton Kershaw. With that being said, Kershaw has been untouchable this season, and Story is another great leverage play, as his price tag is down a bit for this game.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Tommy Pham - OF, at TEX ($3,300)

Pham has caught fire recently, as he's hitting .333 with five extra-base hits, four RBIs, and two steals over his last 10 games. He has scored fantasy points in each of his last 19 games, including 14 games with double digit fantasy points. He also gets a great matchup against Yovani Gallardo in an extremely hitter friendly stadium.

Brandon Guyer - OF, vs CHW ($2,300)

Guyer is a player that is specifically used against left-handed pitching. He enters this game with 0.146 wOBA and 0.127 ISO differentials against lefties. He's also hitting .320 with a .440 slugging percentage and an .873 OPS over his last 10 games. He gets a decent matchup against Carlos Rodon in Cleveland tonight, as well.
