FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (8/18/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Tom Vecchio highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 8/18/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have a split slate of games with only three in the early window and then an 11-game main slate. Options are a bit thin across the board, so it could be a time to take a shot in some tournaments, where it's easy to be different.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/18/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Zack Godley - P, ARI @ SDP (FD - $9,700)

Godley will certainly be one of the more popular pitchers on tonight's slate, one because of his price and two because of his matchup. He is facing off against the Padres who come in with a 25.7% strikeout rate vs right-handed pitchers, which is second worst in the league. He has six or more strikeouts in six straight starts and has allowed three or fewer earned runs in five of those six starts. Great park factor for him here along with a great matchup.

Wade Miley - P, MIL @ STL (FD - $6,300)

Listen, Miley isn't the best or most consistent pitcher on the slate, but in his seven starts this season, he has only has allowed 10 earned runs. He isn't a big strikeout pitcher with only 23 SO in 40 innings pitched and while he won't put up massive numbers, the point per dollar value is strong with him. Miley has five strikeouts in two of his last three starts, with the other start having zero strikeouts.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Freddie Freeman - 1B, ATL vs COL (FD - $4,200)

Free Money Freeman has three multi-hit games over his last five and is now in a spot to continue that trend. He is up against Antonio Senzatela, who is coming off the DL and giving up a .312 wOBA to lefties this season. Freeman has a .387 wOBA vs right-handed pitchers this season and the Braves come in with a very high 4.80 implied run total.

Rougned Odor - 2B, TEX vs LAA (FD - $3,500)

At first glance, many DFS player might not play Odor tonight due to the lefty vs lefty matchup, but he actually has a .339 wOBA vs LHP this season, so a viable option. He comes in with a three-game hitting streak with one double and four RBIs.

Miguel Sano - 3B, MIN vs DET (FD - $3,200)

Sano is still decently cheap and with having two home runs in his last four games, his price might stay this low. Good time to buy in for a few more games and get this power surge since he will have the platoon split vs Ryan Carpenter and a very healthy 5.3 implied run total.

Brandon Crawford - SS, SFG @ CIN (FD - $2,800)

Crawford and the Giants get a nice positive park shift being in Cincinnati and truly aren't expensive at all this season. Yes, Crawford is struggling a bit right now with only two hits in his last five games, but he has a .325 wOBA vs RHP this season and makes a great value play.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Nicholas Castellanos - OF, DET @ MIN (FD - $3,600)

Another day, and another time Castellanos is too cheap. Under $4K yet again and comes in with five hits in his last three games, with one double and one home run. He has a .327 wOBA and a .198 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season and is viable in all formats with a salary like that.

Daniel Palka - OF, CWS vs KAN (FD - $2,800)

Just play Palka tonight. This is another player that is simply too cheap on a nightly basis when he is facing right-handed pitchers, as he is tonight. He comes in with a massive .263 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season but is somehow under $3K. Love the home run upside here and the stacking potential.
