FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/20/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Troy Klauder highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 5/20/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Tonight's main slate starts at 7:05pm eastern and covers eight games. There's also an all day slate starting at 1:05pm eastern that includes two early games.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/20/2019. These picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Carlos Carrasco: CLE vs OAK ($10,500)

While Carrasco's 4.18 ERA is abnormally high, his peripheral stats are still phenomenal. Carrasco's got a 32.0% K-rate with a 3.6% walk rate, good for a 3.18 FIP. Cookie has given up just four earned runs this month and should continue rolling against the Athletics, who have a weak .302 wOBA versus righties this season. Feel comfortable investing in Carrasco as your ace in the early slate.

Brad Peacock: HOU vs CWS ($7,800)

Peacock has been inconsistent as a starting pitcher this year, but carries a ton of upside into this start against the White Sox. Chicago's lineup strikes out 25.7% of the time against right-handed pitching, which ranks them among the top five highest marks in all of baseball. Peacock displayed his strikeout ability just two starts ago when he racked up 12 strikeouts against the Royals. Peacock is worth looking at in GPP contests in hopes of a similar outing.

 

FanDuel DFS Infielders

1B - Kendrys Morales, NYY at BAL ($2,200)

Morales has an outstanding opportunity as a member of the Yankees, as he's now batting fifth in a fantastic spot for RBI. He'll be in an extremely hitter-friendly park in Baltimore tonight against Andrew Cashner. Cashner has a poor 4.71 FIP, so Morales and the Yankees should produce well against him.

2B - Dee Gordon, SEA at TEX ($2,800)

Gordon hasn't been very good at the plate this year, but his 12 steals still give him fantasy value. He's also one of the cheapest leadoff hitters you'll be able to find - as a leadoff hitter, Gordon will maximize the number of plate appearances he gets and the number of chances he has to score. He is worth consideration at this low of a price.

3B - Rafael Devers, BOS at TOR ($3,200)

I love the idea of a Red Sox stack if you're playing in an early slate as they face Edwin Jackson, a journeyman whose best days are far behind him. Devers has been mashing over the last two weeks, batting .314 with an .842 OPS. He is an essential part of a Red Sox stack, but can also be used as a standalone.

SS - Francisco Lindor, CLE vs OAK ($3,700)

Lindor is an elite option in any matchup, although he was particularly potent against left-handed pitching last year, posting a 168 wRC+ against southpaws. He's an easy pick against lefty Brett Anderson, owner of a 4.41 ERA. Until Lindor's price is as high as it deserves to be, continue starting him.

 

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Joey Gallo, TEX vs SEA ($4,200)

Gallo has put together a prolific season, posting a monster .277/.411/.638 line with 13 homers. He's got great odds at going deep again versus Mariners starter Mike Leake, who has a 1.83 HR/9.

Shohei Ohtani, LAA vs MIN ($3,800)

Ohtani is beginning to look like the hitter he was last year, when he had an insane 182 wRC+ against righties. As the Angels three-hitter behind Mike Trout, Ohtani is in a position to rack up RBI.
