FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/6/16): MLB DFS Advice

Jason Bales highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 5/6/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups.

It is a huge slate tonight in the baseball world.

After a 13-run fifth inning for the Colorado Rockies, is it still safe to play Madison Bumgarner? These questions and more will be answered below.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/6/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds get a great matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers and Tyler Cravy, who is currently pitching for Wily Peralta due to the birth of his daughter. Unfortunately for Cravy, the Reds have been hitting well, and they should be able to score quite a few runs tonight.

San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants were recently embarrassed in their own stadium by the Colorado Rockies. Jake Peavy and Matt Cain are just not going to cut it. Their offense, however, is playing great. Chad Bettis is not going to be able to slow them down, so stack the Giants without hesitation.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks are generally considered a home-only stack, but that is not the case tonight. They get a great matchup against the Atlanta Braves and Aaron Blair. While it is true that they hit better in hitter-friendly Chase Field, it is not true that they can not produce runs elsewhere. Use him in tournaments.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Madison Bumgarner

Tonight is not a night to attempt to get fancy at the pitcher position. Madison Bumgarner gets a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies, and he tends to pitch better in San Francisco. The Rockies exploded against Matt Cain, but Bumgarner is not Cain. He is definitely safe to use.

Noah Syndergaard

Noah Syndergaard is slightly cheaper than Madison Bumgarner tonight, so he may get a slight edge against the San Diego Padres in Petco Park. On DraftKings, this is the other way around. Syndergaard is striking out a ton of batters early in the season, but he does have an issue allowing steals. Regardless, the Padres have to get on base to steal, which is something that likely will not happen often.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Rene Rivera/Kevin Plawecki

Whoever the New York Mets decide to start at catcher is a great tournament option tonight. The San Diego Padres are pitching Drew Pomeranz, so the Mets should score runs. In his last game, Rivera hit a home run, but Plawecki is the better overall hitter.

First Base (1B) - Joe Mauer

Joe Mauer has been lighting it up at the plate of recent, and he is actually playing worse than he should be. His expected OBP, or xOBP, is much higher than his actual OBP. He is hitting the ball hard, but it is getting caught. Regardless, he is hitting over .300 this season. Use him in all formats.

Second Base (2B) - Brandon Phillips

Brandon Phillips gets a great matchup tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he has a ton of power for a second baseman. He fits nicely within a Reds' stack, but he can also be used outside of the stack as a huge upside, power-hitting home run kind of play.

Shortstop (SS) - Aledmys Diaz

Aledmys Diaz is one of the best hitters on the St. Louis Cardinals' team right now. The Cardinals are going to continue to find creative ways to keep him in the lineup every day. His price tag should be much higher than what it is, so continue to use him in all formats.

Third Base (3B) - Brandon Drury

Brandon Drury is another player that is entirely too cheap for his current production level. As previously mentioned, the Arizona Diamondbacks make for a great stack. Well, do not stack them without Drury. He can hit for average and power, which is dangerous for someone at his price tag.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Ryan Braun

Ryan Braun is on a tear to start the season, so use him in all formats. He gets a great matchup against the Cincinnati Reds and Tim Adleman. Adleman is currently pitching for the injured Raisel Iglesias, and Braun is going to make him wish he was back in the minor leagues.

Khris Daivs

Khris Davis has a ton of potential. He is a power-hitting outfielder for the Oakland Athletics, and in his last three games, he has 9.7, 18.7, and 40.9 fantasy points. With six home runs already on the season, it should be pretty obvious why he makes for a great play in tournaments, especially with a $3,300 price tag.

Mac Williamson/Gregor Blanco

Angel Pagan is likely still going to be out with a hamstring issue tonight, which opens up a starting spot to either Mac Williamson or Gregor Blanco. Hunter Pence is also dealing with some back tightness, so he may sit out again. If both Blanco and Williamson play, feel free to use them both. If not, just start whoever is starting. It is that simple.
