FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/15/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome back for another Saturday of daily fantasy baseball. Now that we are to the League Championship series DFS becomes very tough as, for the most part, we get a lot of close low scoring games. Cash games are not recommended and for tournament play it is best to target a team and load up on an offense hoping for a big game.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 10/15/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Josh Tomlin

The Jays offense looked rusty in game one leaving multiple runners on early helping Corey Kluber out of multiple jams. Look for them to get back on track today vs. Josh Tomlin. They were a better hitting team against right handed pitching this season ranking 9th in wOBA(.328) and 6th in Isolated Power. They have a loaded lineup that has shown us they can crush any pitcher at any time.

Chicago Cubs vs. Kenta Maeda

The Cubs had the 3rd highest scoring offense(808 runs) during the regular season and ranked 7th in wOBA(.328) and 9th in wRC+ against right handed pitching. After scoring just one run in game one vs. the Giants the offense picked up in teh next three games scoring a total of 16 runs en route to the NLCS. They get a great matchup tonight vs. a struggling Kenta Maeda who has surrendered four or more runs in his last two starts. The strongest stack will be the top four hitters and if you want to go a bit contrarian you can load up the bottom half of the lineup.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jon Lester (SP, CHC) $10,100

Top pitcher on this small two game slate as the Cubs come in as big -190 favorites vs. the Dodgers. He was dominant in a NLDS win holding the Giants to five hits and zero earned runs over eight innings pitched, striking out five and walking no batters. Lester faced the Dodgers twice this year and was very impressive. He pitched a complete game against them back in June striking out 10 batters and allowing just one earned run. he then faced them in late August going six innings and allowing zero earned runs while striking our six batters. Look for the Cubs to take an early lead in the series and get one game closer to the coveted World Series.

J.A. Happ (SP, TOR) $8,300

For the most part Marco Estrada and the Jays bullpen shut down the Indians in game one. It took just one walk and home run for the home team to take game one. Looking at the regular season it was J.A. Happ who received the second highest run support per game(6.06) and  they can provide some offense today will have a high win potential. He wasn't sharp against the Rangers as he only made it through five innings allowing nine hits but limited them to one earned run, striking out five and walking just one batter. Look for a much better start on Saturday afternoon.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Willson Contreras (C, CHC) $2,700

No catcher comes in above $3K today making it east to pay up to the top for Contreras. He recorded a hit in each of the final three games vs. the Giants with two runs batted in and 6+ FanDuel points in each.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) $3,900

His torrid pace in the playoffs continued in game last night as he recorded two more hits including a double. He now has hits in all five games including three multi hit efforts. For the Jays to get back int eh series they will have to start driving in runs. Look for a big game from EE.

Howie Kendrick (2B, LAD) $2,600

He will most likely be in the lineup in game one with lefty Jon Lester on the mound. It will be a tough matchup for the Dodgers but Kenrick has had success against Lester in the past with seven hits in 31 at bats including four doubles. He gives you room to stack the big bats at other positions.

Javier Baez (SS, CHC) $2,900

Baez is an elite value play under $3K at shortstop and is providing a ton of power from the bottom of the lineup. He recorded a hit in all four games of the NLDS against the Giants including a home run and four runs scored. He is great play on his own or as a part of a bottom of the lineup stack for the Cubs.

Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) $3,700

Like Encarnacion, Josh Donaldson has been tearing it up in the playoffs. He has recorded 11 hits in 22 at bats including a walk and 11 runs scored. The Jays problem wasn't Kluber in game one as they had multiple runners on base in the early innings but couldn't drive them in Friday. They get a bit easier test against Tomlin today who gave up a 17.7% HR/FB rate during the regular season. Expect the Jays to get back to the power game today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Dexter Fowler (OF, CHC) $3,400

He struggled a bit in the division series with just two hits but is a spark hitting out of the leadoff spot.  He had a terrific regular season for the Cubs with a .276/.393/.447 slash line with 84 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. Look for the Cubs offense to pick up where they left off with 5+ runs in three straight games to close out the Giants.

Jose Bautista (OF, TOR) $3,300

There is no way I would ever trust him in cash games but the upside, especially in big spots in the playoffs, is undeniable. He started the playoffs off hot with a big home run in the wildcard game against the Orioles and another in game one vs. the Rangers. He has since cooled down but is more than due for a clutch hit to get the jays back in the series.

Brandon Guyer (OF, CLE) $2,300

There is a very good chance Guyer gets back in the lineup in game two as the Jays will be throwing lefty J.A. Happ to the mound. Guyer is a platoon player who destroys left handed pitching, recording a .437 wOBA and 181 wRC+ on the season. His price allows you to load up at other positions.
