DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/24/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Yordan Alvarez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on September 24, 2022. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Today's MLB slates are split up as is the norm for September baseball. Half the guys I think will play will not, so you have to be as flexible as Gumby to play MLB DFS in September, but that also means that there is a lot of money out there should you dare to dive in those waters. That's why we're here.

There are eight games on the main slate for tonight's action. Two pitchers tip the scales on DraftKings at five figures. Three of them weigh in over that mark on FanDuel. So, hey...at least we have some nice pitching on this slate! That makes it easier.

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:05 pm EST on 9/24/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Framber Valdez at BAL ($10,200 DK, $11,200 FD)

I like the discount on Framber on DK better, but he's in play on both sites. Framber has been nothing short of brilliant for the last six weeks or so, sporting at least 20 DraftKings points in seven straight outings. He has been even better on the road, posting a 2.05 ERA in 16 road starts compared to 3.32 at home.

Add in the fact that he gets his road outing in Camden Yards, baseball's latest and greatest homer-suppression park, and we have the recipe for another brilliant outing from Framber. He's going to get his six innings no matter what, which is something that we can't always count on in September baseball.

Logan Gilbert at KC ($8,500 DK, $10,200 FD)

Again, I like Gilbert a lot more on DK. He seems a bit overpriced on FD. At any rate, the last team to really get to Gilbert was the Yankees all the way back on August 8. He is fresh off 11 strikeouts against the Angels and has only allowed two runs in his last four starts combined. Based on price alone, Gilbert is my favorite play on the slate tonight.

Also consider: Clayton Kershaw, Reid Detmers, Davis Martin

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Christian Walker - 1B, ARI vs. Alex Cobb ($4,200 DK, $3,300 FD)

Walker has four homers in his last ten games and is the only current Arizona player to have a homer against Cobb. Walker is 4-for-8 with that homer against Cobb and has walked three more times off of him. That's a lot of crooked numbers at a very reasonable price.

Ryan McMahon - 2B, COL vs. Yu Darvish ($5,400 DK, $2,800 FD)

I love the price for McMahon on FD, but you can use him on both sites. Many Rockies have taken Yu Darvish deep – six of them to be exact – but McMahon is the only one to have success off of him other than the home run. I don't mind Rockies one-offs against Darvish if you're just chasing homers, but McMahon should be able to get you a few points regardless.

Manny Machado - 3B, SD at Chad Kuhl ($5,500 DK, $4,500 FD)

Machado is the low-hanging fruit here. He is 7-for-14 in his career against Chad Kuhl with a pair of homers. I really like the San Diego side of this game tonight. The temperatures are cooling in Denver, so it's not quite the launching pad that it was about a month ago, but Machado is so strong and hits Kuhl so well that it doesn't much matter. It could be below zero and he could still knock Kuhl out.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU at Mike Baumann ($6,100 DK, $4,500 FD)

Alvarez has "slowed down" a bit in the last week, meaning he is only hitting .405 in that span. Hey, that's like a slump for Yordan lately. Judge and Pujols are getting all of the attention, but Alvarez just continues to hit. Baumann may as well be a pitching machine against Alvarez...

Taylor Ward - OF, LAA at Joe Ryan ($4,000 DK, $3,100 FD)

It's an encouraging sign for the Angels to have Ward closing the season strong. 2022 was mostly ruined by injury, but Ward is running hot lately with three homers and seven RBI this week. Ryan hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts, but he's the lone bright spot for the reeling Twins in September. Keep in mind Ryan had a dreadful August. He's far from matchup-proof despite recent success.

Will Brennan - OF, CLE at Glenn Otto ($2,300 DK, $2,100 FD)

There's always value to be found in September and Brennan is my favorite of the night. The rookie is 4-for-11 in his young career with three RBI and a pair of steals. He's probably not getting us a homer but he has put up very nice numbers for a guy who is almost minimum price and will likely start for the rest of the year.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):

San Diego Padres - You kind of have to watch who you throw at Yu Darvish, but you can throw caution to the wind when it comes to Chad Kuhl. The Rockies don't care how many homers he gives up. They obviously don't have better options. There is enough value on this slate to put five Padres in if you want. Just watch the lineup...you may be a little gift like a super-cheap Jose Azocar.

Seattle Mariners - Kris Bubic has had no business pitching in the majors for most of the year. His 5.88 ERA belies how bad he has actually been. Bubic is 0-7 with a 6.18 ERA since August 1. Ty France and Mitch Haniger are the obvious choices, but the Seattle pieces are so cheap that you can run a 5/3 or 4/4 stack with the Padres and any pitchers you like.

Honorable mention: Houston Astros
