DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/22/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Aaron Judge - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on September 22, 2023. Dawn Tepper's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Friday, RotoBallers! Another day, another 11-game slate following a Thursday Night Football game that saw another bludgeoning of the New York Giants. But we're here for baseball and have lots of great matchups tonight, so let's dig in!

Some of my target stacks and bats tonight include Minnesota vs. the Angels, San Diego vs. St. Louis, Philadelphia vs. the Mets, and the Yankees vs. the Diamondbacks. The teams mentioned are facing pitchers with high xFIPS, some as high as 7.8 (Minnesota) and others over 5 (Philly and San Diego).

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/22/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 p.m. ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pablo Lopez, DET vs. LAA ($10,700 DK, $11,000 FD)

Lopez is 10-8 in 30 games played this season. He has a 3.58 ERA, and in his last five games, he is 1-2 with a 3.90 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched.

In his last outing versus Los Angeles, he struck out nine Halos in six innings pitched and ended the game with a 3.0 ERA. He took the loss versus the Twins last Saturday, giving up five runs on eight hits, but still managed to fan eight with no walks. Another outing versus the Angels is an opportunity for Lopez to get back on track and get enough K's to justify his high price tag.

Cole Ragans, KC @ HOU ($7,800 DK, $9,000 FD)

In his last five starts, Ragan has gone 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched. He is 6-4 for the season, has a 3.34 ERA, and has struck out 100 in 83.2 innings pitched. Yet, he is $7,800 on DraftKings. He's at Houston tonight, and for his last two outings versus Houston, he has a 6.30 ERA so that could explain the price, but in our case, the "why" doesn't matter. What matters is that while Houston will be a tough outing, $7,800 is too cheap for Ragans and is a great tournament play.

Also consider Tyler Glasnow, Framber Valdez, Sawyer Gipson-Long

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corey Seager, SS, TEX vs. SEA ($6,300 DK, $4,300 FD)

Lefty Seager is facing right-hander Bryce Miller at home tonight. Miller is 0-1 in his last five starts with a 4.26 ERA. Versus lefties this season, he is allowing .288/.346/.516 with nine home runs and 30 RBI.

Seager is slashing .336/.409/.678 versus righties this season, with 24 home runs and 68 RBI. At home, he is batting .335/.402/.695, .331/.392/.637 for the season. I can throw Seager's stats at you all day long, but the bottom line is this: roster him everywhere, in all types of contests!

Corey Seager Splits

Corey Seager Splits for Outs/Base Stats

Sean Murphy, C, ATL @ WSH ($4,500 DK, $3,400 FD)

Right-hander Murphy is facing lefty Patrick Corbin tonight in the Nation's Capital. Corbin has had his ups and downs this year and, in his last five starts, has gone 2-2 with a 6.51 ERA. Versus righties, Corbin is allowing a. 298/.345/.489 slash line with 26 home runs and 76 RBI.

Murphy is slashing .303/.418/.539 versus right-handed pitchers this year, with six doubles, four homers, and nine RBI. Nationals Park is one of the more hitter-friendly stadiums this year, and even with the windy evening, Murphy and the Braves should have no problem against Patrick Corbin.

Ryan Jeffers, MIN vs. LAA ($3,500 DK, $2,900 FD)

Minnesota is facing right-hander Davis Daniel in the Twin Cities tonight, and the Twins are one of my favorite stacks of tonight's slate. Davis is making his first Big League start tonight versus a Twins team with a .183 ISO and 106 wRC+. Versus right-handed pitchers, Jeffers is slashing .280/.370/.444 with 11 doubles, one triple, six homers, and 22 RBI. Jeffers is batting third in tonight's lineup, giving him more opportunities to add to his run count of 41 for the season.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge, OF, NYY vs. ARI ($6,500 DK, $4,100 FD)

The Yankees are done for the season, but Aaron Judge is not. Judge and the Bombers are facing right-hander Brandon Pfaadt, who is 2-1 in his last four starts but has a 5.18 ERA. Versus righties, Pfaadt is allowing a .282/.321/.503 slash line with nine doubles, two triples, nine homers, and 28 RBI. Versus right-handed pitchers, Judge is slashing .254/.398/.551 with 24 home runs and 48 RBI. In his last five games, Judge has a .278 batting average with 5 hits, one RBI, and a run scored. Judge isn't about to go quietly into the dark night as the season winds down and makes a great tournament play versus the Diamondbacks tonight in the Bronx.

Juan Soto, SD vs. STL ($5,700 DK, $4,200 FD)

Soto faces right-hander Dakota Hudson tonight in San Diego. Soto is slashing .267/.405./504 for the season, .276/.418/.544 versus righties with 24 home runs and 84 RBI. In the last 30 days, San Diego has a .172 ISO and, for the season, a 107 wRC+. Hudson is 6-2 for the season, with a 5.12 ERA and 5.19 xFIP. In his last five starts, he is 1-2 with a 7.0 ERA. San Diego's bats could prove to be too much for the righty, making them one of my favorite stacks of the night.

Alex Verdugo, BOS vs. CHW ($3,900 DK, $2,900 FD)

Verdugo and the Red Sox are facing right-hander Touki Toussaint tonight at Fenway. Whenever I see Boston facing a righty, I immediately go to Verdugo, among others (Devers), and am never disappointed in the outcome of his matchup. Toussaint is 4-7 for the season, with a 5.64 ERA.

Versus righties, Verdugo is slashing .286/.334/.477 with 12 home runs and 41 RBI. He is .281/.340/.459 at home with 23 doubles, two triples, seven homers, and 28 RBI. Verdugo and the Red Sox are in a great spot tonight and can be added to cash and tournament lineups.
