DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/29/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Corbin Burnes - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on August 29th, 2022. Euan Leith's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Monday, Rotoballers! It's almost September, and the business end of the regular season is creeping up on us. We could be looking at some strange rotations, random off days, and unusual lineups with one month to go. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about that today. So instead, we focus on eight games for the DraftKings contests and six for the FanDuel competitions.

Eight games provide 16 arms to sift through as we look to find the perfect Monday pitcher. Carlos Rodon and Corbin Burnes headline the aces section, but one has a significantly easier matchup than the other. After that, I don't mind skipping to the $7,000 range, where some up-and-down pitchers offer excellent upside in advantageous spots.

This article has daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 8/29/2022, Main Slate, at 6:40 pm Eastern Time. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. If you have questions or comments, find me on Twitter @EuanOrYouOut and ask away!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Burnes - P, MIL vs. PIT ($10,400 DraftKings; $11,100 FanDuel)

You can't go wrong with Burnes or Carlos Rodon tonight, but I lean towards Burnes because Pittsburgh is a far easier matchup than San Diego. If you're worried about the Milwaukee pitcher's recent form, remember his previous two starts came against the MLB-leading Dodgers.

The defending NL Cy Young winner arrives with a much softer landing spot against the Pirates to start the week. In August, Pittsburgh is striking out 23.9 percent of the time and producing a dismal .278 wOBA when facing right-handed pitching. Monday's meeting will be the fourth time Burnes battles the Pirates in 2022, and he's averaged 21.8 DK PPG so far.

Jose Berrios - P, TOR vs. CHC ($7,600 DK; $8,500 FD)

Entering this start against the Cubs, Berrios is a perfect concoction of form, opponent, and playing at home. The former-Minnesota Twins right-hander recently shut down the Red Sox and Yankees in back-to-back starts on the road. Now, he'll face a much easier matchup with Chicago, in a stadium that his stats tell us he prefers.

2022 Jose Berrios Splits
Venue Record ERA WHIP K% xFIP
Home 6-1 4.10 1.22 24.8 3.67
Away 3-4 6.48 1.4 17.6 4.42

With the Cubbies slashing .226/.295/.382 against righties in August, Berrios shouldn't have to worry about a blow-up performance. Plus, if he can strike out 15 batters in 12 2/3 innings over his last two outings, he won't have a problem against Chicago's 23.8 percent K rate since July 1st.

Also consider - Carlos Rodon, Tony Gonsolin, Mike Clevinger, and Frankie Montas.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Franchy Cordero - 1B/OF, BOS at Dylan Bundy ($2,000 DK; $2,500 FD)

Cordero's started four of the last five games when Boston's faced a right-handed hurler, so I feel confident in him getting the starting nod against Bundy. The free-swinging lefty's been anywhere from sixth to ninth in the batting order but is making the most of his opportunity. In those four previously mentioned starts, Cordero is 4-for-9 with three runs, three home runs, four RBI, and a walk. Of course, he'll get replaced at some point on Monday, but he can provide great returns on his current cost with one swing.

Kolten Wong - 2B, MIL vs. Jerad Eickhoff ($3,100 DK; $2,700 FD)

We're trying to catch lightning in a bottle here, as Kolten Wong showed us an unusual amount of power over the weekend. In the three-game series against the Cubs, Wong was 5-for-10 with three runs, two doubles, two home runs, and three RBI. Pittsburgh's Jerad Eickhoff sports a 24.8 percent Home Run to Flyball rate over the last three seasons, so hopefully, we can squeeze one more extra-base hit out of Milwaukee's second baseman before the power fades again.

Nolan Arenado - 3B, STL at Chase Anderson ($5,600) - DraftKings only

You'll want a piece of the action in Great American Ball Park as the NL Central-leading Cardinals roll into town. As a result, I love spending up at third base tonight with Nolan Arenado. He recently returned from the paternity list, but new dad duties didn't slow him down from an electric August. This month, the four-time Silver Slugger is rocking a 1.148 OPS with 10 doubles, eight homers, and 25 RBI.

Ha-Seong Kim - SS, SDP at Carlos Rodon ($4,400 DK; $2,900 FD)

In the previous two games where the Padres face a southpaw, infielder Ha-Seong Kim hit leadoff for the Wild Card contenders. While today's southpaw is Carlos Rodon, I still fancy a little exposure to the Padres infielder in my lineups. Over his last 10 games, the South Korean sports a .343/.410/.514 slash line with four extra-base hits and nine RBI. As a bonus, he performs better on the road, producing a season-long .794 OPS compared to a .636 OPS at Petco Park.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Joey Gallo - OF, LAD at Pablo Lopez ($3,400) - DraftKings only

Another DK-only pick, but one well worth chasing. Since a deadline deal to go from the East to the West Coast, Gallo's become a rejuvenated slugger. He's hit sixth in three of his last four starts. He sat right behind Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Max Muncy, and Justin Turner. Not a bad gig at all for some getting regularly booed by Yankees fans a month ago. It also helps that the left-handed slugger has a .884 OPS with his new team in blue compared to the .621 OPS he produced in New York.

Lars Nootbar - OF, STL at Chase Anderson ($3,000) - DraftKings only

If there's a righty on the mound, Nootbar leads off for the Cardinals. And if a leadoff man is sitting there at $3,000 on DraftKings, he's going in my lineup. The rookie is opening eyes with his current performances for the Redbirds with a .324/.432/.703 slash line in his last 10 games to accompany nine runs, three doubles, a triple, three longballs, and six RBI. Do "noot" sleep on Lars as a cheap, salary-saving option for your Monday lineups.

Corbin Carroll - OF, ARI vs. Ranger Suarez ($2,000 DK; TBA FD)

So this happened.

Then our very own Jon Anderson tweeted this...

As a baseball fan, you should be extremely excited to watch Carroll. And as a DFS manager, you should be ready to profit tonight.
