DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/31/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 31, 2023. Casey Wilson's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We're back at it on a Monday, breaking down another slate. We have hit the dog days of summer the trade deadline approaches. This is where the actual DFS players thrive, as most are worn out from the daily grind of researching and making lineups daily. Not us over here at RotoBaller. We are prepared for the rest of the season and looking to win more slates.

I will cover the nine-game slate starting at 7:05 pm in this article. I love tonight's slate. There are three stacks tonight that I will be playing in my three lineups. I will lock in my SP2, which we will get into later in the article. I will also mix and match the other three options on the slate I like tonight.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 7/31/2023 and the slate locking at 7:05 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Tyler Glasnow, TB at NYY ($10,500 DK, $10,600 FD)

We have a slate loaded with pitching. I want to start with the top option on the board, Tyler Glasnow. Glasnow is finally fully stretched out, as he got to 97 pitches his last time out. On the season, Glasnow has a 2.95 SIERA, 34.8% K%, and 18.0% SwStr%. In the previous six starts, Glasnow has been elite. In that span, Glasnow has a 2.26 SIERA, 38.2% K%, and a 20.0% SwStr%. He has scored at least 23.4 DraftKings points in all those starts.

Glasnow will take on the New York Yankees tonight on the road. The Yankees own a 22.4% K% against right-hand pitching. They hold a 92 wRC+, .303 wOBA, .399 SLG, and an 8.3% BB%. Over the last 30 days, the Twins own a 22.3% K%, 94 wRC+, .305 wOBA, .371 SLG, and 10.8% BB%. Aaron Judge will bolster these numbers, but we are also talking about a team that struck out seven times in four innings yesterday against Dean Kremer.

The other encouraging part of this matchup is Glasnows splits. He has been much better at limiting damage to right-handed bats. He has a .237 wOBA and a .109 ISO to right-handed batters this season compared to a .361 wOBA and a .248 ISO to lefties. The Yankees will send five to six righties to the plate today. Let's pay attention when the lineup comes out to confirm, but if there are at least five righties, I will be comfortable paying the price for Glasnow.

Nick Pivetta, BOS at SEA ($6,600 DK, $8,000 FD)

Nick Pivetta has been elite over the last month of the season. He owns a 1.96 SIERA, 44.4% K%, and 15.0% SwStr %. He has scored an average of 24.36 DraftKings points over that span. His price on DraftKings makes no sense at all making him an elite play today. He is the safe SP2 on today's slate. In GPPs, I would not mind the fade, but in cash and single-entry formats, I will be locking him in.

The Mariners are a well below-average team against right-hand pitching this season. On the year, they own a 25.9% K%, 103 wRC+, .312 wOBA, and a .401 SLG. They are the second-worst team in baseball in K% against right-hand pitching. The matchup is elite, and the price is even better. Lock in Pivetta tonight.

Also consider: Domingo German, Seth Lugo

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Orlando Arcia - SS, ATL vs. Griffin Canning ($4,100 DK, $2,800 FD)

Orlando Arcia and the rest of the Braves right-handed bats are in a great spot against the reverse splits of Griffin Canning. On the season, Canning has a 3.85 SIERA but has allowed a .356 wOBA, .222 ISO, and a 58.8% hard hit against right-handed bats. Arcia and Riley, over the last 30 days, have been lighting it up against right-handed pitching. Arcia in that span has a .361 wOBA and a .500 SLG. Riley has a .423 wOBA and a .670 SLG. I like the price of Arcia much more, but I love the duo today.

Gary Sanchez - C, SD vs. Austin Gomber ($3,700 DK, $3,300 FD)

Gary Sanchez and the Padres square off today against Austin Gomber at Coors Field. Gomber, on the season, has a 4.98 SIERA and a 1.83 HR/9. He has a .350 wOBA, .204 ISO, and a 48.9% hard hit against righties this season. On the season, Sanchez has a .393 wOBA and a .660 SLG against lefties this season. Over the last 30 days, he has a .405 wOBA and a .640 SLG.

Triston Casas - 1B, BOS vs. George Kirby ($3,500 DK, $3,400 FD)

Casas is starting to heat up, and the price on DraftKings is yet to catch up. Over the last 30 days, he has had a .523 wOBA and a .804 SLG against right-hand pitching. Kirby owns a .370 wOBA, .278 ISO, and a 58.3% hard hit against the split over the last 30 days. He is also allowing a 50.0% fly ball rate over the span. Look for Casas to take advantage of today.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Christian Yelich- OF, MIL vs. Jake Irvin ($5,100 DK, $3,500 FD)

Christian Yelich and the Brew Crew get a great matchup against the right-handed Jake Irvin tonight. Irvin has a 5.10 SIERA and a 1.57 HR/9 this season. He has a .352 wOBA, .185 ISO, and a 42.1% hard-hit rate this season against lefties. Yelich has been on a tear this year in his return to being one of the game's elite hitters. Yelich has a .398 wOBA and a .526 SLG this season against right-hand pitching. Over the last 30 days, he has improved with a .438 wOBA and a .649 SLG.

Trent Grisham - OF, SD vs. Austin Gomber ($3,200 DK, $3,200 FD)

Grisham is a sneaky play that is popping for me, especially on DraftKings at that price. On the season, Austin Gomber has shown reverse splits. Against left-hand hitters this season, Gomber owns a .474 wOBA, .354 ISO, and a 50.7% hard hit. Grisham is the beat left on left bat for the Padres. He has a .362 wOBA and a .468 SLG against lefties this season. Add in the price and the park. He is one of the best plays on the slate.

Joc Pederson - OF, SF vs. Ryne Nelson ($4,000 DK, $3,100 FD)

Pederson gets a matchup against Ryne Nelson, who leads today's slate with a 5.16 SIERA. This season, Nelson has been crushed by left-handed bats to a .373 wOBA, .242 ISO, and a 47.9% hard hit. Over the last 30 days, Pederson has a .381 wOBA and a .540 SLG. I think Joc gets a hold of one tonight.
