DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/21/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Framber Valdez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on July 21, 2023. Nick Shlain's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Hello, RotoBallers! I'm back with another Friday main slate DFS breakdown. We're almost getting to the end of July as this summer flies by. Let's get to it!

This article contains my picks for the 11-game main slate on Friday, July 21, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:05 PM ET. Rain could be an issue in Boston tonight. Keep an eye on that game before lock. As of now, I am writing as if they will play.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Framber Valdez, HOU at OAK ($10,800 DK, $11,200 FD)

Framber Valdez left his last start with a slight calf injury in the seventh inning against the Angels on the road. Of course, this was after Valdez had already struck out 13 batters. He has a 2.76 ERA and 2.89 xFIP on the season. Valdez is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball and gets the best matchup you can ask for tonight against the Athletics on the road. He's worth spending up for tonight.

Clarke Schmidt, NYY vs. KCR ($6,200 DK, $8,000 FD)

Clarke Schmidt had a rough April where he had a 6.84 ERA, but his ERA has been under 4.00 in every month since. He's significantly underpriced on DraftKings tonight and also has a great matchup against the Kansas City Royals at home. Schmidt has a 3.93 ERA at home this season. The Royals are dead last in all of baseball averaging 3.28 runs per game on the road this season.

Others to consider: Shohei Ohtani ($11,000 DK, $10,200 FD) vs. PIT; Joe Ryan ($10,600 DK, $10,000 FD) vs CHW

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mookie Betts - 2B (DK) - 2B/OF (FD), LAD at TEX ($6,300 DK, $4,200 FD)

Betts is one of the best hitters in baseball and has a great matchup tonight against Texas starter Andrew Heaney. Betts has a .462 ISO and .477 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season. Heaney has allowed a .241 ISO and .359 wOBA to right-handed batters this season. Sign me up for some of the Dodgers leadoff man tonight.

Gleyber Torres - 2B, NYY vs. KCR ($4,900 DK, $2,900 FD)

Torres is one of the hottest hitters in the month of July with a .328 average, two home runs, 11 runs scored and seven RBI. Still, he remains way underpriced on FanDuel making him my favorite play at second base there. Torres has a good matchup with Royals starter Alec Marsh, who will be making his fourth MLB start. He has a 5.40 ERA after his first three starts.

Alex Kirilloff - 1B/OF, MIN vs. CHW ($2,200 DK, $2,900 FD)

Kirilloff has also been hot in July with a .311 average and three home runs in only 13 games. He remains underpriced on both sites. That's going to be something you'll want to take advantage of as Kirilloff has a great matchup against Lance Lynn, who has allowed a .300 ISO and .438 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Carroll - OF, ARI at CIN ($5,800 DK, $4,000 FD)

Carroll has been one of the most explosive players in fantasy baseball this season. He has a great matchup tonight going to Cincinnati, a great hitting environment. Carroll will face Cincinnati starter Ben Lively, who has allowed a .217 ISO to right-handed hitters this season. Carroll has a .308 ISO against right-handed pitching this season.

Teoscar Hernandez - OF, SEA vs. TOR ($3,300 DK, $2,900 FD)

Hernandez continues to be underpriced on DraftKings so he's a better play over there tonight. He has a good matchup against left-handed starter Yusei Kikuchi tonight. Hernandez has a .286 ISO and .367 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season. Kikuchi has allowed a .213 ISO and .342 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season.

Giancarlo Stanton - OF, NYY vs. KCR ($4,700 DK, $3,000 FD)

Stanton has five home runs in 14 games so far in July. He's way underpriced on FanDuel like the rest of the Yankees. Tonight he has a home matchup against the Royals who will start Alec Marsh and his 5.40 ERA and then have the second-worst bullpen in all of baseball behind him. He's in a great spot tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Ben Lively

The Diamondbacks have been hot this road trip. Arizona almost scored 20 runs in a single game earlier this week in Atlanta. There's no reason for them to slow down in an even better hitting environment in Cincinnati this weekend. Lively has been better in his two starts this month, but he had a 6.17 ERA in June.

Also consider: Minnesota Twins vs. Lance Lynn

Lynn has a problem against left-handed hitters as he's allowed a .300 ISO to them this season. The Twins have some left-handed hitters who've been hot recently in Max Kepler, Edouard Julien, and Alex Kirilloff. None of those hitters are expensive tonight so they make sense as a cheap secondary stack.

Sneaky Stack: Seattle Mariners vs. Yusei Kikuchi

TeOscar Hernandez, Tom Murphy, and Dylan Moore all have at least a .250 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. Kikuchi has allowed a .213 ISO to right-handed batters and a .273 ISO to left-handed batters this season so everyone is in play if you want to stack the Mariners tonight.
