DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/8/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

charlie blackmon fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers outfield MLB DFS lineup picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on June 8th, 2022. Juan Carlos Blanco's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. As customary, we have an all-day ledger on tap Wednesday, and although DraftKings does not have a full-day slate, FanDuel does. Consequently, today's article will feature picks on both sites for games throughout the day, as even on DK, the suggestions will prove viable for someone playing one of the site's split slates.

While there are multiple big-name pitching options Wednesday, I see value in pivoting some lower-salaried options that appear to be in good matchups. Then, there's a strong selection of hitters at varying salary points that are also positioned to thrive.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 6/8/2022 that includes a FanDuel main slate locking at 12:35 pm ET. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. If you have any questions or comments, find me on Twitter and ask away!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Chris Bassitt - P, NYM at SD ($8,200 DK, $9,500 FD)

Bassitt had an uncharacteristic meltdown three starts ago against the Giants when he allowed eight earned runs over 4.1 innings. However, he's been impressive in virtually every other outing, and even with the aforementioned stumble, he still boasts a 3-1 record, 3.86 ERA, and 9.6 K/9 across 28 road innings. The right-hander has also held current Padres bats to a collective .098/.122/.116 slash line in 29 career encounters, and San Diego comes in with a .225 average, .276 wOBA, and -8.8 wRAA against righties at home in the last month. Finally, consider Bassitt's xBA of .235 and xERA of 3.68, which both check in lower than his actual figures in those categories.

Ian Anderson - P, ATL vs. OAK ($6,400 DK, $7,700 FD)

Anderson hasn't been as consistent as in his first two big-league stints, but he's still allowed four earned runs or less in eight of 10 starts. However, some of his below-the-surface numbers offer a reason for optimism, as the right-hander is allowing a modest 4.9 percent barrel rate, while his 3.83 xERA is markedly lower than his actual 4.70 figure. Anderson is also generating a solid 12.2 percent swinging-strike rate, and he could hardly be in a better position on paper Wednesday. The Athletics have been mostly punchless all season, and they've been particularly poor versus right-handers on the road in the last month with a 27.2 percent strikeout rate, .206 average, .105 ISO, .259 wOBA, and -12.5 wRAA in that split.

Other options: Sandy Alcantara, MIA vs. WAS ($9,200 DK, $11,200 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Ty France - 1B, SEA at Jose Urquidy ($5,000 DK, $3,400 FD)

France comes into Wednesday's matchup with a .324 average and .875 OPS in what has been a breakout season, and his 11.7 percent strikeout rate underscores how often he's giving himself a chance to get on base by making consistent contact. Wednesday, France gets a crack at a pitcher he's had plenty of success against in the past in Urquidy, who he's tormented for a .467 average in 15 career plate appearances. The hot-hitting infielder has been excellent against righties overall with a .333 average and .887 OPS, and Urquidy has been taken to task against righty bats for a .323 average, .381 wOBA, and 2.5 HR/9.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs. Logan Gilbert ($5,400 DK, $3,600 FD)

Altuve enters Wednesday's action with a .280 average and .880 OPS, and he's been especially lethal against right-handed pitching at home with a .382 average, 1.020 OPS, .445 wOBA, and 203 wRC + in that split. The Astros' keeper of the keystone has a tough matchup on paper against a quality young righty in Gilbert, but Altuve has punished him for a .546 average and 1.674 OPS with zero strikeouts in 12 career encounters. Gilbert has also arguably been a tad fortunate, with his .315 xwOBA and 3.60 xERA appreciably bigger than his .258 and 2.21 actual figures in those categories.

Xander Bogaerts - SS, BOS at Reid Detmers ($5,500 DK, $3,900 FD)

6/8 UPDATE: With Bogaerts now day-to-day due to shoulder tightness, the Braves' Dansby Swanson -- $5,200 DK, $3,500 FD -- is a viable pivot at this position

Bogaerts has enjoyed plenty of success against left-handed pitching throughout his career, and Wednesday, he gets a crack at a talent but still inconsistent one in Detmers. The young southpaw famously threw a no-hitter earlier in the season, but he went on to allow eight earned runs across 9.2 innings in his next two starts. There's also notably a sizable gulf between Detmers' .284 wOBA and his .338 xwOBA, while Bogaerts has posted a .359 average, .945 OPS, .415 wOBA, and 174 wRC+ against southpaws this season. What's more, Bogaerts is also thriving against the four-seam fastball that qualifies as Detmers' most-often-thrown pitch versus righty hitters, as the Red Sox shortstop owns a .359 wOBA when seeing that pitch from a lefty.

Wilmer Flores - 3B, SF vs. Antonio Senzatela ($5,100 DK, $3,000 FD)

Flores makes for some cost-effective exposure to Senzatela, who's pitched to a 10.38 ERA, .415 BAA, and .430 wOBA on the road. The veteran right-hander has had a particularly difficult time versus righty bats when traveling, giving up a .429 average, .467 wOBA, 3.0 HR/9, and 6.81 FIP in that split. Meanwhile, Flores has been rock-solid against right-handed pitching in his home park, producing a .275 average, .855 OPS, .369 wOBA, and 140 wRC+ in that split.

Other options: Curt Casali - C/1B, SF vs. Antonio Senzatela ($3,500 DK, $2,200 FD); Eduardo Escobar, NYM at Sean Manaea ($3,100 DK, $3,000 FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Charlie Blackmon - OF, COL at Alex Wood ($4,600 DK, $3,200 FD)

Perhaps Blackmon's days as a .300 hitter are behind him, but the veteran is still a solid all-around producer and has actually been a more productive hitter outside of Coors Field. Blackmon has struggled more than usual in same-handed matchups this season, but he does have a respectable .250 average and encouraging 23.8 percent line-drive rate in that split on the road. Wood has allowed the same average to left-handed hitters at home and has conceded a .424 average with only three strikeouts in 35 career encounters with Blackmon. Additionally, Wood has had most of his trouble at home, where he's yielded a 6.11 ERA, .354 average, and .388 wOBA. Whenever he exits, Blackmon will also be in good shape, as the Giants bullpen has allowed a 6.82 ERA and .347 wOBA to lefty bats in the last month.

Ronald Acuna Jr. - OF, ATL vs. Jared Koenig ($6,200 DK, $4,200 FD)

Acuna gets a shot at a lefty making his first MLB start in Koenig, who's been very impressive at Triple-A Las Vegas but who could still find himself in some dangerous terrain versus a hitter that's always been very proficient against lefties. Acuna has pounded southpaws for a .395 wOBA, .217 ISO, and 152 wRC+ in a modest sample of 29 plate appearances, and he boasts .401 and .279 figures in the first two categories for his career. He's also been a terror at Truist Field overall thus far, producing a .283 average, .947 OPS, and .396 wOBA at home.

Austin Meadows - OF, DET at Mitch Keller ($3,800 DK, $2,600 FD)

Meadows makes for a great way to gain some left-handed exposure to Keller, who's given up a .311 average, .344 wOBA, and 4.95 xFIP to the 50 lefty bats he's faced at home thus far. Meadows has a .271 average, .336 wOBA, and a tiny 8.6 percent strikeout rate versus right-handed pitching, and he has some Statcast metrics that suggest he's due for some more impactful production -- he boasts a .306 xBA and a .377 xwOBA that's notably higher than his .323 figure. Finally, consider there's plenty of synergy for fantasy purposes between the pitch Keller throws most often against lefty bats -- the four-seam fastball -- and Meadows; while Keller is giving up a .347 average and .390 wOBA in that split, Meadows carries a .316 xBA and .377 xwOBA against it when seeing it from a righty.

Other options: Mike Trout - OF, LAA vs. Nathan Eovaldi ($5,600 DK, $3,800 FD)
