DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/5/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Jonathan India - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on June 5, 2023. Casey Wilson's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

What a weekend filled with some genuinely awesome baseball. I have been glued to college baseball all weekend, so taking a step back and getting back into some MLB content is nice. In today's article, I will provide some more expensive bats and cheaper pitching options. I am spending up on my offenses tonight with the value we have on the bump.

I will cover the seven-game slate starting at 6:40 pm in this article. Today's slate has two pitching options above $9,000 on DraftKings and three on FanDuel. Today seems to be a slate where the smash options are a bit cheaper. There are genuinely only four pitchers that I would use tonight, and I will mix and match them throughout my three-entry max contests.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/5/2023 and the slate locking at 6:40 pm ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

I want to start this section by mentioning Aaron Nola. He is the best option on today's slate. Im not going to waste anyone's time telling you that. He is the only ace on today's slate and gets a matchup with the Tigers. Will I be plying Nola? Of course, I will be, but I will also warn you that he will be massive chalk tonight, and he only has three starts above 20 fantasy points this season. I will be under the field on him.

Andrew Abbott, CIN vs. MIL ($4,000 DK, N/A FD)

Andrew Abbott will make his major league debut tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers. He has been sensational in Triple-A this season. Abbott was 3-0 at his call-up with a  3.05 ERA, 34.8% K, 9.0% BB, and a 39.3% GB. He hasn't had a single season in his minor league career below a 30.8% K. When we get a pitcher with massive K upside at $4,000, it immediately becomes the best punt on the slate.

Milwaukee is also my favorite team in the MLB to attack with left-hand pitching. The Brewers lead baseball with a 29.3% K against the split. They also own a 74 wRC+, second worst in baseball behind the Rockies against lefties. They are last with a .281 wOBA and a .341 SLG. To say this team has struggled against lefties this season is doing them a favor. They have been awful.

Great American Ballpark is one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks in the big leagues. This would be the only concern I have here in this matchup. I am being honest. I don't care. We get a $4,000 pitcher with a massive strikeout upside in the best possible matchup. I will be going all in on Abbott tonight.

Mike Mayers, KC at MIA ($6,600 DK, $8,100 FD)

Mike Mayers is a wild card on today's slate. He will be the bulk reliever today behind starter Carlos Hernandez. Mayers will make his fourth appearance this season for the Royals. In his first three outings, he has been outstanding. He has a 3.72 SIERA, 26.4% K%, and 11.1% SwStr%.

He also has a 45.4% GB with a 32.4% hard-hit rate. This is a limited sample size, but those numbers are elite. He throws his slider 35% of the time, generating a 45% Whiff. He had 14 total Whiffs two starts ago.

Mayers is a bit expensive on FanDuel at $8,100, but on DraftKings at $6,600, I love him as a value play. He will face the Marlins. They have a 23.0% K, 92 wRC+, .304 wOBA, and a .382 SLG against right-handed pitching this season.

The price is what makes Mayers intriguing here. We rarely get a sub-7 K pitcher with a strikeout rate of around 30% and a chance to throw 90 pitches. This may be our last chance to get Mayers at a discount. As a PLR, I can't see him getting much ownership here.

Also consider: Aaron Nola, Braxton Garrett

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jonathan India - 2B, CIN vs. Julio Teheran ($5,400 DK, $3,600 FD)

Jonathan India gets a matchup with Julio Teheran, and the regression monster is about to hit him. Julio Teheran enters today's start with a 5.51 SIERA and a 0.82 ERA. He has gotten extremely lucky this season. India has been swinging it well over the last 30 days. He has a .365 wOBA, .241 ISO, and a 46.9% hard hit. I expect him to be a significant cog in Teheran's regression tonight.

J.T. Realmuto - C, PHI vs. Joey Wentz ($4,600 DK, $2,800 FD)

Realmuto will face Joey Wentz tonight and the Detroit Tigers bullpen. This season, Wentz has a 4.78 SIERA, 1.72 HR/9, and a 35.0% hard-hit rate. Against righties, he has given up a .390 wOBA, .237 ISO, 42.3% FB, and a 42.3% hard hit. Realmuto excels against this split, hitting a .364 wOBA, .273 ISO, and a 46.7% hard hit this season.

Corey Seager - SS, TEX vs. Adam Wainwright ($5,900 DK, $3,900 FD)

Corey Seager is in one of the best matchups on the slate tonight against Adam Wainwright. Wainwright has a .453 wOBA, .286 ISO, 40.8% FB, and a 44.9% hard hit against left-handed bats since his return from the IL. Seager has a .440 wOBA, .296 ISO, and a 58.9% hard-hit against righties this season. The matchup for Seager is perfect tonight, and I expect him to do damage here.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jake Fraley - OF, CIN vs. Julio Teheran ($4,800 DK, $3,100 FD)

Fraley gets the same matchup here tonight as India against Julio Teheran. As mentioned above, there should be some regression hitting Teheran tonight, and in this Reds lineup, the best two bats this year have been India and Fraley. I will pair both in at least two of my three lineups tonight. Over the last 30 days, Fraley has a .398 wOBA, .235 ISO, and a 37.5% hard hit.

Andrew McCutchen - OF, PIT vs. J.P. Sears ($4,500 DK, $3,200 FD)

Cutch gets a matchup against a lefty tonight, and when that happens, he's always in play. Sears starts today with a .312 wOBA, .274 ISO, 40.9% hard hit, and a 59.1% FB against right-handed bats this season. McCutchen has a .340 wOBA, .236 ISO, and a 32.6% hard hit against left-handed pitching this season.

Yordan Alvarez OF, HOU vs. Alek Manoah ($6,100 DK, $4,300 FD)

Alek Manoah leads tonight's slate with a 5.86 SIERA. He has a 1.56 HR/9 and a 34.6% hard hit. He has especially struggled against left-handed bats this season. He has a .387 wOBA, .203 ISO, 53.4% hard hit, and a 43.7% FB. Yordong has a .401 wOBA, .284 ISO, and a 47.7% hard hit. I sense a home run coming here for Alvarez.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Cincinnati Reds vs. Julio Teheran

First, I can't believe I'm writing the Cincinnati Reds as the top stack of the night. With our value at pitching, this may be best as a mini stack, but if you want to get Nola in, I have no complaints about fully stacking them tonight. Julio Teheran enters today's start with a 5.51 SIERA and a 0.82 ERA. He has a .222 BABIP and a 30.6% hard hit. He has some serious negative regression knocking on the doorstep. He now gets to pitch in one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the big leagues.

The Reds are not the offense we usually want to target, but this ballpark changes everything. If I'm being honest, this play is solely based on the negative regression coming for Teheran. I always trust the numbers, and although this is an underwhelming team to stack, I love this play tonight.

Favorite Plays: Jonathan India, Jake Fraley, Matt McLain, Will Benson, Spencer Steer

2. Pittsburgh Pirates vs. J.P. Sears

3. Texas Rangers vs. Adam Wainwright

4. Houston Astros vs. Alek Manoah

5. Philadelphia Phillies vs. Joey Wentz
