DraftKings Plays Of The Week - Daily Fantasy Football Advice from a Milly Maker Winner

Derrick Henry - Fantasy Football Rankings NFL Injury News, DFS Picks

Matt Hakim won the DraftKings NFL Millionaire Maker tournament in Week 3. Read his Week 5 DraftKings DFS picks and plays of the week. Get daily fantasy football advice from a Milly Maker winner.

The day I took home $1.3 million on DraftKings was a dream come true. That Sunday, Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, I felt like I had found the holy grail by winning the DraftKings Millionaire Maker tournament. It was surreal, exciting and nerve racking, but most of all, life changing. I have been an avid DFS player for many years and had earned a reputation for my sports knowledge amongst my surrounding community. But the day I won “the big one” felt like the peak culmination of all my efforts before that. If interested you can see my winning lineup below.

Now, I’ve realized it’s just the beginning. I have spent countless hours analyzing data and stats to help me win over the years. I use a bunch of different tools, read a ton of articles, and listen to fantasy football podcasts daily. I use every inch and every second to help me gather the information I need to help me succeed week in and week out. And on September 26, 2021, I created my absolute perfect lineup -- when the dust settled, I became a DFS millionaire. My goal here is to help you experience the success that I have had and turn it into some big cash as well!

Below you will find my DFS lineup picks for Week 5 on DraftKings. I start by zoning in on my favorite games to stack, along with recognizing which positions offer the most value. Typically, if you want to win big, you need to take calculated risks -- but taking down first place doesn’t mean you need to avoid all the chalk. Use me as an example – my lineup in Week 3 was mostly chalky (I stacked the Rams vs the Bucs). All of my running backs (Saquon Barkley, Alexander Mattison, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire) were all in the 20% owned range that week. My bottom line here is, don’t just focus on being different -- focus on being right. Now let’s dive into my favorite games to stack, along with my favorite overall plays of the week!

LordMattyIce’s DFS Picks for DraftKings

RB Damien Harris $5,500 – The bad news? Harris has had a rough couple of weeks facing the Saints and the Bucs. The good news? He gets a horrendous Houston Texans team in Week 5, and his projected ownership is only 10% on DraftKings because of what has transpired over the last two weeks. I am not worried about game flow as the Patriots are favored by 10 points in this one. The Texans have allowed a league-high eight rushing touchdowns in the first four games, and Harris should be able to find the end zone at least once, if not twice. Yes, the Patriots backfield is always scary to trust, but as we saw in the first couple of weeks (42 touches) Harris is their guy. Fire him up and don’t look back.

WR Deebo Samuel $7,100 – Who would have thought before the season started that we would be talking about Samuel as a top-three wide receiver in PPR? Those who drafted him in season-long leagues are certainly ecstatic with what they have seen. This week he gets a Cardinals team who has scored relentlessly through the first four weeks, and George Kittle has been ruled out already. Samuel has 48 opportunities (receiving and rushing) so far through the first four weeks, and is on pace for over 2,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns so far this year. The game plan should not change, especially with Kittle on the sidelines. His projected ownership is coming in at just under 15% on DraftKings. Trey Lance played well last week and will be getting the start on Sunday, and the Niners have no chance to win this game unless they feed their explosive WR1.

RB Derrick Henry $9,000 – As mentioned above, building the perfect lineup has more to do with being right than being different. Derrick Henry is going to be chalk this week as his projected ownership will hover around 25%. Do not be afraid to spend up on a guy that is averaging almost 32 touches per game. The knock Henry in previous years was that he is not involved in the passing game, but so far this season he has 14 catches for 125 yards (on pace for 60 receptions and over 500 yards receiving). To put that in perspective, Henry had 19 catches for 114 yards all of last season. The Jags run defense sits in the middle of the pack in the NFL, but don’t get it twisted -- they are not good. Henry is matchup proof, and with the number of opportunities he is seeing this year, he is an absolute must play this week. More to come on this game…

WR Laviska Shenault Jr. $4,800 – Darrell Bevel (the Jags OC) talked about giving Viska a bigger role with D.J. Chark out for the year. He posted his best game of the year against the Bengals and benefited tremendously with the absence of Chark. About 16% of the target share has now been vacated, and Shenault will be the primary beneficiary. This week, the Jags get a Titans secondary that has given up the 2nd most points to the wide receiver position this year. Last week I was all over Corey Davis for $5,000, and he finished with over 100 yards and a TD. You know what they say: “If it ain't broke, don’t fix it”. I am going to attack the Titans secondary all year, as you should too. I love the Derrick Henry-Laviska Shenault stack this week -- and if you really want to go all out, I wouldn’t be mad at you if you decided to throw in Trevor Lawrence and Marvin Jones too.

RB Saquon Barkley $7,300 – Barkley got off to a slow start in the first couple of weeks as expected, but lately we have been seeing the real Saquon. In Week 1, he saw less than 50% of the snaps -- but since then he has been on the field over 80% of the time. The Cowboys have given up 4.7 YPC over the first four weeks (6th worst in the NFL). The Giants are going to lean on Barkley and the run game this week with Slayton and Shepard on the sidelines. Hi DraftKings DFS ownership is going to hover around 15-20% this week, which is solid for a running back who can finish as the number one overall player on the slate. This game has shootout potential as both defenses have been somewhat shaky this season. Do yourself a favor and pay the $7,300 for a guy that will be priced around $9,000 very soon.

Tight End of the week: Dalton Schultz - $4,400

Quarterback of the week: Trevor Lawrence - $5,800

Defense of the week: Washington Football Team - $2,300
