DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/28/18): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on September 28th, 2018. Adam Meyer's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

With three games taking place before 7:05pm EST, we only have 12 games to choose from in our DraftKings player pool on Friday night. Three games have an over/under of at least nine total runs, with the WSH/COL matchup leading the way at 10.5 projected runs.

As far as pitchers are concerned, only two teams are considered to be strong favorites (-200 odds, or greater) on Friday night: the Brewers and Astros. Expect to find at least one of those pitchers in our suggestions for the main slate.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/28/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Tyler Glasnow, TB (vs. TOR) - $8,700

I’m looking to save some money on the pitcher position on DK in order to spend big on the bats for Friday night. I understand that Week 4 of the NFL is underway and people are studying more on those DFS lineups, but money can still be made in MLB. If you feel out of the loop on which teams are playing well, the Vegas lines can help. The TOR/TB matchup has an over/under of 7.5 total runs. Meaning, Vegas is expecting a low-scoring affair. Also, the Rays are a decent favorite (-170) in this game. Meaning, their pitcher is a strong choice for DFS. As for Glasnow’s recent success, he’s punched out at least six batters in back-to-back outings. He’s also allowed three earned runs, or less, in five of the past six appearances.

Zach Davies, MIL (vs. DET) - $5,300

Another way to figure out which pitchers you should target at this point on the MLB season is to determine which teams are still playing for something. The Brewers are locked into the postseason, but they’re still playing to win the NL Central division. They’re one game behind the Cubs and Las Vegas has Milwaukee as the strongest favorites of the night (-230). Davies has allowed two earned runs, or less, in four consecutive games. On the down side, he’s not a strikeout machine. He’s notched three strikeouts, or less, in three straight outings.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Mike Zunino, SEA (vs. TEX) - $3,600

Zunino has the trifecta working for him on Friday night. First of all, the price tag is reasonable (under $4K). Secondly, Zunino has recent history on his side. He’s 7-for-17 (.412) with four doubles and one home run in the last week. Finally, in Zunino’s career, he’s 6-for-14 (.429) with three home runs against Martin Perez.

1B - Yuli Gurriel, HOU (@ BAL) - $5,200

Gurriel leads the league with 13 hits in the past week. He’s 13-for-26 (.500) with one double, three home runs, and 11 RBI in the last seven days. The Astros are projected to score the second-most runs (5.3 runs) on the slate. David Hess is on the hill for Baltimore. This season, he has a 5.01 ERA at home (18 ER in 32.1 innings of work).

2B - DJ LeMahieu, COL (vs. WSH) - $4,400

Home game for the Rockies? They’re only one game up on the Dodgers for the NL West. Yeah, load up on Colorado bats. In the past week, LeMahieu is 11-for-30 (.367) with one double (three walks). Also, Colorado leads the slate with a 6.1 implied run total.

3B - Nolan Arenado, COL (vs. WSH) - $5,000

Arenado is typically our go-to guy when a lefty is on the hill. However, Joe Ross is a right-handed pitcher. No worries, Arenado also has a .213 ISO against righties since 2017. He also has a .333 AVG (9-for-27) with three doubles (three walks) in the past week.

SS - Ehire Adrianza, MIN (vs. CWS) - $3,500

I was torn between Adrianza and Aledmys Diaz, but I don’t want to have a batter against my pitcher. Adrianza is 6-for-16 (.375) with four doubles in the past week, so he’s no slouch. Also, he’s produced against the White Sox. This season, he’s 16-for-42 (.381) with five doubles and two home runs against the AL’s Chicago club.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

David Dahl, COL (vs. WSH) - $5,400

The hottest hitter in the Colorado lineup is Dahl. He’s homered in four consecutive games and still maintains a .323 AVG during that span. He’s notched multiple hits in three straight games, too. Dahl also leads the Rockies with a .302 ISO against right-handed pitchers since 2017.

Nelson Cruz, SEA (vs. TEX) - $4,400

His recent history isn’t great (5-for-26), but Cruz owns the Rangers. This season, he’s 20-for-58 (.345) with four doubles and four home runs against Texas. Also, the Mariners are projected to score the third-most runs on Friday night and Cruz leads the team with a .247 ISO against southpaws since 2017. In his career, Cruz is 9-for-30 (.300) with three home runs against Martin Perez.

Ryan Braun, MIL (vs. DET) - $4,300

We already mentioned the starting pitcher for Milwaukee. Now, let’s focus on one of their bats. The Brew Crew is slated to score 5.3 runs on Friday (tied for second-most). Braun is 5-for-17 (.294) with three home runs in the past week and 5-for-14 (.357) in his career against Jordan Zimmermann.
