DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/3/19): MLB DFS Lineups

Aaron Nola - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 3rd, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Saturday sees an unusually unbalanced slate with just three games in the afternoon window. Instead, we see a whopping 13 slates in the evening slate, thanks to the Red Sox and Yankees playing out a double-header. Clearly, the evening slate will be the one we are focusing on.

The biggest favorites on this slate are the Phillies hosting the White Sox, with the Twins the only other team currently better than -200 in the odds. In terms of total, the line is in double digits in Baltimore, Houston, Minnesota, Texas, and Colorado. This should be a high-scoring slate, opening up a lot of cheaper hitting options for us to choose from.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/3/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Aaron Nola, PHI (vs. CWS) - $10,100

It has been an up and down season for Nola but this is a nice spot to try and take advantage of. He was at his very best in July, with a 2.53 ERA and striking out 43 in 39 1/3 innings. He also averages close to 20 fantasy points on DraftKings in home starts this season, with 99 strikeouts in 84 innings. The White Sox are a high variance team, but Nola should have the talent to shut them down.

Danny Duffy, KC (@ MIN) - $7,400

Well, this is a pick that could look very silly later today, but it is worth the risk at this price. Duffy has been better on the road this season, averaging close to 17 fantasy points on DraftKings in those starts. In July he averaged a strikeout an innings, so does have the ceiling to get up to 20 points if he can restrict the Twins. On a slate with some uncomfortable cheap options, this is perhaps the option with both reasonable upside and a decent floor.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Pedro Severino, BAL (vs. TOR) - $3,900

Severino is always an interesting play when he is facing left-handed pitchers. This season Severino has hit for a .307 batting average with seven of his 10 home runs coming against them, giving him a .295 ISO and a .392 wOBA against lefties. He has struggled to hit at home this season with a .232 batting average, but when lefties have been on the mound in Camden Yards that rises to .310.

1B - Mark Canha, OAK (vs. STL) - $4,300

Canha is having a pretty solid season, but the majority of his success this season has come against right-handed hitters. 12 of his 17 home runs have been with righties on the mounds, leaving him with a .284 ISO and a .386 wOBA.

2B - Brian Dozier, WSH (@ ARI) - $3,900

Dozier's splits this season are incredibly extreme, with his batting average being a full .100 higher against left-handed pitchers than righties. He also has a .264 ISO and a .406 wOBA against lefties, so he can be a nice budget option for your lineup today.

3B - Hunter Dozier, KC (@ MIN) - $4,100

This is a double-whammy for Dozier as not only is he better against right-handed pitchers this season, but also on the road. His ISO against righties is .268 and .315 on the road, with a .382 wOBA against righties and a road wOBA of .387.

SS - Corey Seager, LAD (vs. SD) - $4,100

Much like Dozier, Seager has pretty extreme splits but favoring facing right-handed pitchers as opposed to lefties. With righties on the mound this season he is hitting .295, with eight of his nine home runs, a .225 ISO and a .369 wOBA.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Hunter Pence, TEX (vs. DET) - $4,500

This has been a massive bounce-back season for Pence and his numbers against left-handed pitchers are particularly juicy. Against lefties this season he has a .318 batting average, six home runs, a .307 ISO and a .402 wOBA.

Joc Pederson, LAD (vs. SD) - $4,200

It has not been a good couple of months for Pederson, but I am hanging onto him with this drop in price looking to get back that form against right-handed pitchers. All 23 of his home runs have comes against righties this season, with 17 of them also coming at home. His ISO at home against right-handed pitchers is .412, with a .418 wOBA.

Jake Marisnick, HOU (vs. CLE) - $3,900

There are a few Astros option that you could use today against a left-handed pitcher, but Marisnick offers that upside at tremendous value. He has four home runs in just 81 PA, with a .288 batting average, .274 ISO and a .378 wOBA.
