DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/24/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 24th, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Saturday sees a busy day, with all 30 teams in action. It is even more loaded into the evening, with 12 of the 15 games falling on the evening slate. Let's take a look at that loaded evening slate.

The two biggest favorites on this slate in Cleveland and Minnesota, but the pitching situation with Cleveland is easier to trust than in Minnesota. This could be a reasonably quiet schedule with only two of the 12 games currently projected to have a total of 10 or over. However, that is not to say there are not some great opportunities to find hitting value.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/24/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Mike Clevinger, CLE (vs. KC) - $11,800

Bar a blip in Boston, Clevinger is rolling this season with four games over 30 points in his last nine starts. Three of the other five saw him score over 20 points. In two starts against the Royals this season, he has averaged 30 points allowing just one earned runs with 16 strikeouts in 13 innings. He is expensive but he has the opportunity to return three fantasy points per $1k in salary.

Max Fried, ATL (@ NYM) - $8,300

Things have been better for Fried in his recent starts. He has scored 20 or more fantasy points in three of his last six starts. In his last three road starts he is averaging 22.9 fantasy points. With the weather in New York favoring hitters, Fried has a great chance to return value on his price in this start.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Robinson Chirinos, HOU (vs. LAA) - $3,600

Chirinos has some pretty extreme splits when comparing right and left-handed pitchers. His batting average is .095 higher against lefties (.313), with a .240 ISO and a .412 wOBA. He also has better numbers at home with a .272 batting average, .228 ISO and .375 wOBA.

1B - Albert Pujols, LAA (@ HOU) - $3,800

Pujols has hit 10 of his 19 home runs against left-handed pitchers, despite having 117 less PA against lefties than righties. He is also hitting .273 with a .266 ISO and a .349 wOBA.

2B - Jose Altuve, HOU (vs. LAA) - $5,200

Much like Chirinos, Altuve has pretty extreme left-hand/right-hand splits. He is hitting .376 with nine home runs in 93 PA, giving him a .388 ISO and a .477 wOBA against left-handed pitchers in 2019. He also has a .269 ISO and a .381 wOBA at home this season.

3B - Josh Donaldson, ATL (@ NYM) - $4,200

Changing this up a little and Donaldson actually has better splits against right-handed pitchers, with a .275 batting average, 23 of his 29 home runs, a .266 ISO and a .382 wOBA.

SS - Amed Rosario, NYM (vs. ATL) - $4,000

Rosario is having a pretty solid season all around. His splits against left-handed pitchers are especially good, with a .315 batting average, .250 ISO and a .386 wOBA.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Trey Mancini, BAL (vs. TB) - $4,500

When facing a team using an opener you need a hitter with good numbers against both hands. Mancini has 29 home runs this season, with an ISO over .240 against both right and left-handed pitchers and a wOBA over .350 against both.

Kole Calhoun, LAA (@ HOU) - $3,900

This is a taking a bit of a gamble to try and give some extra wiggle room for the expensive pitchers. Calhoun has a 241 ISO and a .320 ISO against left-handed pitchers. He is also hitting better on the road this season with a .245 ISO and a .350 wOBA.

Jake Marisnick, HOU (vs. LAA) - $3,800

This is a value opportunity. Marisnick has a .238 ISO and a .332 wOBA against left-handed hitters this season. At this price in a loaded lineup, he makes for a nice value.
