DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/3/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on May 3rd, 2019. Tom Vecchio's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have a 13-game slate tonight and we also have Coors Field in action. Plenty of high-end pitchers to play up for along with the value options out there so we can load up on the hitters.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/3/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

James Paxton - P, NYY vs MIN (DK - $10,300)

Big Maple is the most expensive pitcher on the slate tonight and comes in with eight or more strikeouts in three straight starts, with two of those starts at 12 strikeouts. He has allowed a total of three earned runs in his last three starts and is now up against the Twins, whose current roster finished last season with a 96 wRC+ versus left-handed pitchers. Paxton and his 36% strikeout rate to start the season should be able to handle Minnesota.

Joe Musgrove - P, PIT vs OAK (DK - $7,200)

Musgrove was $9K in his most recent start where he only allowed one earned run over 6.2 innings pitched and he is somehow now priced at 7.2K. Not sure what is going on with the pricing, but Musgrove has allowed a total of six earned runs in 35 innings this season while posting 31 strikeouts. Love his price tonight and is at home in a solid pitcher's park.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Drew Butera - C, COL vs ARI (DK - $3,200)

We should see Butera in the lineup tonight over Wolters since Butera has the platoon advantage against Robbie Ray. The Rockies are at home and if we want some of their hitter's in the lineup, we need the savings, which Butera brings a ton of. Ray allowed 1.47 HR/9 and a 46% hard contact rate versus right-handed hitters last season.

Hunter Dozier - 1B, KAN @ DET (DK - $4,600)

Dozier is up against Matthew Boyd, who allowed 1.44 HR/9, a 36% hard contact rate, and a .312 wOBA to right-handed hitters last season. Yes, Boyd is off to a strong start this season, but the Royals look half-way decent as a team and could be a sneaky GPP stack tonight.

Rougned Odor - 2B, TEX vs TOR (DK - $3,800)

Odor is at home in one of the best hitter's parks on the slate and he is still under $4K as he recently came back from an injury. He is up against Trent Thornton, who is allowing a whopping 44% hard contact rate and 2.57 HR/9 to left-handed hitters this season. Odor should be among the most popular hitters on the slate tonight.

Yandy Diaz - 3B, TB @ BAL (DK - $4,800)

The Orioles are facing off against Dan Straily tonight, who is one of the worst pitchers on the slate, and you should be looking to stack against him anytime he is on the mound. Straily allowed a 48% fly ball rate and a 47% hard contact rate to right-handed hitters. Diaz should be able to jump all over that with his .247 ISO vs RHP to start the season.

Trevor Story - SS, COL vs ARI (DK - $5,600)

Story might be one of the best players on the slate, even with his very high price tag. He is facing off against Robbie Ray, who as noted above, gets torched by right-handed hitters, allowing a 46% hard contact rate and 1.47/9 last season. He has home run upside, stolen base potential, but will likely be popular.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Brett Gardner - OF, NYY vs MIN (DK - $4,300)

Gardner and the Yankees are back at home, giving them a positive park shift compared to where they've been in the past few series. Considering we have a full slate of games and Coors Field in play, no one team should be too highly owned tonight. Gardner has the platoon advantage tonight and comes in with 10 hits in his last 10 games.

Lorenzo Cain, OF, MIL vs NYM (DK - $4,300)

The Brewers are up against Steven Matz tonight, who is a good pitcher? He has flashes of amazing stuff, then he gets destroyed in random games and this could be one for the Brewers. Last season, Matz allowed 1.66 HR/9, a 40% fly ball rate, and a 37% hard contact rate to right-handed hitters. Fully on board with a Brewers stack tonight if Matz is going to be anywhere near popular.
