DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/8/16): MLB DFS Advice

Jason Bales highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 9/8/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

It is a short slate tonight, making it quite difficult to pick the perfect MLB fantasy team.

However, you are in luck. I am here to help out with all the best plays over on DraftKings. Read on, young DFSer.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/8/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals get a great matchup tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies and Alec Asher, who will be making his 2016 debut. Despite having great upside for his career, Asher is simply not ready to take on an offense of the Nationals' caliber. It is likely that the Nationals will take the lead early and continue to score runs until the end of what should be a very lopsided game.

Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are no longer playing in Coors Field. That is disappoint for fantasy owners, but it does not mean that the Rockies can not be used. In fact, they are one of the best stacks on the board tonight against the San Diego Padres and Clayton Richard. Yes, Petco Park is great for pitchers. However, to gain an advantage, one has to be a good pitcher. Richard is not that. He will get hit early and often tonight.

Seattle Mariners

The Seattle Mariners are one of the more powerful teams in the league, and although Seattle is not great for power hitters, hitting against the Texas Rangers and Derek Holland is. Holland has an ERA approaching five on the season, and the Mariners are not going to take it easy on him tonight. With power scattered throughout the lineup, the Mariners are a great tournament stack tonight.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Ivan Nova ($9,800)

Ivan Nova is definitely the best starting pitcher on the board tonight, as he gets a decent matchup against the Cincinnati Reds, a team that hits much better at home than away. Nova has over 20 fantasy points in two of his last three starts, and on the season, his 11-6 record shows his ability to win games. Since exiting New York, he has been pitching much more consistently. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments tonight.

Dan Straily ($8,100)

Dan Straily, aside from one bad performance against the Los Angeles Angels in Los Angeles, a game that the Reds' starter should have domianted, has been fantastic. He has over 18 fantasy points in three of his last four starts, and on the season, his ERA is under four, his record is a respectable 11-7, and he has 131 strikeouts over 159.2 innings pitched. On a slate with only six games, Straily is a gift from the fantasy gods.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C) - Bobby Wilson ($2,700)

Bobby Wilson is not one of the better catchers in the league, but he is one of the better catchers playing tonight. On the season, he currently has a .244 batting average, five home runs, and 30 RBIs. In his last 10 games, he is hitting very close to .300, and he should continue to excel tonight in New York. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments due to the short slate.

First Base (1B) - Brad Miller ($3,700)

Brad Miller gets a semi-tough matchup tonight against the New York Yankees and CC Sabathia, but he is a power hitter hitting in power-friendly Yankee Stadium, so using him in tournaments should be obvious. He has 26 home runs on the season, but only one in his last 10 games. Regardless, the bonus of hitting in a hitter-friendly stadium is enough to add him to this recommendation list.

Second Base (2B) - Trea Turner ($5,500)

His price tag may be high, but Trea Turner is worth every penny. He gets a great matchup against Alec Asher and the Philadelphia Phillies, and there is no reason that he should not excel. In his last 10 games, he is hitting over .350, and on the season, he is hitting .344. With double-digit fantasy points per game on average over his last 10 games, he is a fantasy gold mine.

Shortstop (SS) - Didi Gregorius ($3,800)

Didi Gregorius has been struggling of recent, but he is hitting .290 in Yankee Stadium, which is much better than how he has been playing away from home. He gets a great matchup tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays, and his upside is as good as it gets at shortstop on a small slate. He has 17 home runs on the season and 62 RBIs. The Yankees will score runs tonight, and Gregorius will likely be a part of that.

Third Base (3B) - Nolan Arenado ($5,300)

Nolan Arenado gets a great matchup against Clayton Richard and the San Diego Padres tonight, and he is one of a couple of Colorado Rockies that hit just as well away from home as they do in Coors Field. In his last 10 games, Arenado is hitting over .400. If that is not reason enough to roster him tonight, his 36 home runs and 117 RBIs on the season has to be.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nelson Cruz ($4,800)

Nelson Cruz is fairly expensive tonight, but he gets a great matchup against the Texas Rangers and Derek Holland, and he should be able to put up big fantasy numbers. In his last five starts, he has 14, 14, 17, 10, and 14 fantasy points, so to say that he is heating up would be an understatement. With 35 home runs already this season, his upside is through the roof, which is the same place the ball will be headed tonight.

Raimel Tapia (at SD, $2,600)

Raimel Tapia has been starting for Charlie Blackmon, who is currently dealing with an injury. The Rockies are saying that he is "close" to returning, but no one really knows what that means. For the time being, continue to assume that Tapia will start. He has been great during his brief stretch of games in Colorado, and it'll be interesting to see how he fares in San Diego.
