DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/24/16): MLB DFS Advice

Some expensive pitchers will be on the mound today, meaning that finding several value hitters will be key. With a full slate of games, starting in the afternoon, ther are plenty of DraftKings contests to participate in.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/24/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Boston Red Sox vs. Matt Andriese (RHP)

Andriese has pitched 12.2 innings against Boston this season and has allowed 10 runs on 19 hits. Current Red Sox hitters have a combined lifetime .280 average against him. Boston is still one of the best offensive teams in the league and can be a tough matchup for any pitcher. Given the history against Andriese, target Boston for a stack today.

Seattle Mariners vs. Tyler Duffey (RHP)

Seattle usually doesn't jump to the front of minds as a good option for a lineup stack, but that's not the case today. The Mariners have a fantastic matchup with Tyler Duffey. He's been hit hard lately, allowing 14 runs in the last three games. He's also failed to pitch more than five innings since August 13. Righties and lefties both fared well against Duffey this year, so feel free to roll with any Seattle player that's in the lineup.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Dan Straily, CIN at MIL - $9,200

Straily enters Saturday with a two-game win streak and three wins in his last four. Instead of draining your cap space by picking two of the more expensive pitchers today, save some money by selecting Straily. He's a definite value today, especially considering that he's got a 1.77 ERA in 20.1 innings against the Brewers this season. Current Milwaukee hitters have hit just .234 against him, making him a very sensible choice today.

Rick Porcello, BOS vs. TB - $12,600

You'll spend a lot of your cap space on pitchers today, but it's worth it to nab at least of the top options. Poercello is in a great spot against the Rays. He's won seven of his last nine starts, and four of his last five. In five games against Tampa this year he's 4-0 with an ERA of 2.86. If you're looking for one of the best starting pitcher options today, look no further than Porcello.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Yadier Molina, STL at CHC - $3,100

The veteran is a steady fantasy player who continues to quietly go about his business. He's averaging over six points a game, but still carries a low salary. Molina has been putting up great numbers recently. He's riding a nine-game hit streak and is hitting .444 in the last week. Something else to make him a great play today is the fact that he has a .364 lifetime average against Jason Hammel.

First Base (1B)

Victor Martinez, DET vs. KC - $3,400

The veteran has been a steady source of daily fantasy points this season. He gets a good matchup against Yordano Ventura, as three of his seven hits against the right-hander have been home runs. With so many good options at first base, Martinez gets overlooked. With a good chance for production and a likely low ownership number, Martinez is a good target.

Second Base (2B)

DJ LeMahieu, COL at LAD - $3,700

Having someone who is hitting .349 for a price tag under $4,000 is a near steal for daily fantasy players. The second baseman has been on fire lately, hitting .360 in the last week. He did have a 13-game hit streak end on Friday, but eight of those were multi-hit performances, so the potential for production is there. Although he's facing Clayton Kershaw today, LeMahieu is still red hot and needs to be given a start.

Shortstop (SS)

Marcus Semien, OAK vs. Tex - $3,200

Semien isn't a household name for fantasy baseball, but he's averaging nearly seven points a game while keeping a price tag just over $3,000. He's 3-for 7 lifetime with a home run and three RBI against opposing starter Yu Darvish and needs to be considered today. His .231 average will keep most fantasy players away, but savvy owners who look at matchups will know that Semien is worth the gamble given the low price and low ownership.

Third Base (3B)

Yunel Escobar, LAA at HOU - $2,900

Escobar is still hitting over .300 for the season, yet he always seems to get overlooked for daily contests. He's got a six-game hit streak, including two multi-hit games, and just hit a home run Friday night. Escobar usually isn't going to put up fantasy numbers that jump off the page, but an average of 6.7 points a game for a price under $3,000 is not anything to dismiss. Escobar represents an excellent value selection today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Melvin Upton, TOR vs. NYY - $3,800

If you can overlook the fact that Upton is 1-for-13 recently, he actually makes sense for your lineup today. Daily fantasy baseball is all about good matchups, and that's what Upton is facing today. He doesn't get many starts against right-handers anymore, but with a .279 average against lefties, he's usually in the lineup. He has an excellent history against C.C. Sabathia. In 59 at-bats against the southpaw he's got 17 hits, including four home runs.

Brett Gardner, NYY at TOR- $4,000

Gardner has seen as average hang around the .255 mark this season, slightly below his career average 0f .263. He been hitting the ball well lately, despite ending a six-game hit streak Friday night.  As far as matchups go, he's been good in his history against opposing starter Marcus Stroman. In 20 at-bats he's got five hits, five RBI and a .250 average. Two of his five hits have been long balls. He's averaging almost seven fantasy points a game and makes for a good target.

Jose Bautista, TOR vs. NYY - $4,100

Bautista has seen his price tag drop a bit, and that's good for those who are selecting him today. He's on a three-game hit streak and has three multi-point fantasy performances in the last four games. Bautista is on a hot streak, but should still carry a low ownership number. He has just four hits in 37 at-bats against C.C. Sabathia, but one of those is a home run. Take Bautista and enjoy the production that many will likely shy away from.
