DraftKings And FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (3/31/23): NBA DFS Lineups

Josh Giddey - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News - rotoballer icon

NBA DFS sleepers and values plays for DraftKings and FanDuel on March 31, 2023. Josh Wiesel gives you his top NBA DFS picks and lineup targets.

Happy Friday, RotoBallers! The NBA season is dwindling down, which can make some things unpredictable this time of the year. We've seen the Portland Trail Blazers shut down Damian Lillard, which has opened up opportunities for others. Another team that doesn't mind giving rest days is the Indiana Pacers. There are other examples but it's important to keep an eye out for who is actually lacing up their sneakers on a nightly basis.

We have a loaded NBA slate tonight with 13 games! So many games, and so many opportunities to lean on our stars and also find value across the board. Using FanDuel and DraftKings pricing, I’ll be going through different positions at different price points. Both companies offer the ability to have players be eligible for multiple positions. This should come in handy when building our lineups and hopefully, this guide is helpful.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/31/2023. Remember to monitor the NBA injury report as the slate can completely change before lineups lock, which is at 7:00 pm ET. Follow me on Twitter @Jwiesel13, I love to interact with the community and talk all things DFS and betting.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Donovan Mitchell- PG/SG, CLE vs. NYK (FD: $9,500, DK: $9,100)

Aside from the extra motivation of playing the New York Knicks, this is a big game for both teams. Mitchell hasn't shot great in his last two games against the Knicks but his stats remained solid. In three games against New York this season, he's averaging 28.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and over a block and steal. Mitchell has also let it fly, hitting 16/38 three-pointers. The Cleveland shooting guard is coming off 44 points, five rebounds, and five assists with five three-pointers in his last game.

Josh Giddey- PG/SG, OKC @ IND (DK: $ 8,700, FD: $8,000)

Giddey has been a swiss army knife for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season. He's the type of player that can offer a little bit of everything, which is very valuable. In 16 March games, he averaged 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 7.5 assists.

Two games ago, he scored a career-high 31 points while also putting up 10 rebounds and nine assists. Oklahoma City likes to get out and run and that's where Giddey is in his zone. Indiana is in the bottom five for most fantasy points allowed to shooting guards, making Giddey an easy pick.

The Pacers are also giving up a ton of points and seem to have a non-existent defense. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out, Giddey should continue to have an increased role for OKC.

Jaden Ivey- PG/SG, DET @ HOU (DK: $7,100, FD: $6,900)

The Detroit Pistons rookie was awesome in March. He averaged 18.3 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in 11 games. Ivey has been facilitating well with at least 5+ assists in nine straight games. Detroit is in the cellar of the NBA and has let their fifth-overall pick run the show since the All-Star break.

He's been a beast in his last four games, averaging nearly 40 DraftKings points per game. If we're looking at value, Ivey comes in at $7,100 on DK, while Talen Horton-Tucker comes in at $7,900. THT did have a big game recently but I don't believe he should be $800 more than Ivey. I think that is a misprice. Take Ivey, who offers a better upside and is just a better player with a great matchup.

Houston has given up the most FanDuel points to point guards and the fifth-most to shooting guards. In the last 10 games, Houston is in the bottom five for opponent points per game. There should be plenty of opportunity and volume for Ivey in this one.

Mike Conley- PG, MIN vs. LAL (DK: $6,000, FD: $5,800)

Conley is a good play on the cheaper side. The veteran point guard has been more productive lately and showing signs of life. He's averaging 30.92 DraftKings points in his last five games, highlighted by his big performance against the New York Knicks. The Lakers have been pretty kind to point guards as of late, giving up the fourth-most points per game while also giving up counting stats. There's significant importance for both teams in this game, and Minnesota will need Conley guiding the way.

Tre Jones- PG, SAS @ GSW (FD: $6,400, DK: $5,900)

Tre Jones played well against the Warriors back in January. The third-year point guard scored 21 points and dished out five assists. He gets another nice matchup against a Golden State team that is 26th in OPRK (opponent rank) when it comes to point guards, according to DraftKings. Jones has averaged 31.88 DK points in his last five games and has great value at his pricing.

Other to target: De'Aaron Fox (FD: $9,100, DK: $8,000), D'Angelo Russell (FD: $7,600, DK: $7,100), Jordan Poole (FD: $7,400, DK: $6,200)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Kristaps Porzingis- PF/C, WAS vs. ORL (FD: $9,600, DK: $9,300)

Porzingis has been balling lately. Averaging 46.78 DK points in his last five, I like Porzingis over some of the more expensive options in this category. KP also just played this Magic team four games ago and put up 30 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks. He also knocked down three three-pointers. Orlando has been struggling with giving up second-chance points recently, which can be helpful for Porzingis and your lineups.

Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma are both out as well.

Zach LaVine- SG/SF, CHI @ CHA (DK: $8,100, FD: $8,000)

I'm opting to take LaVine over his teammate DeMar DeRozan, who is $100 extra. LaVine is coming off a modest game against the Los Angeles Lakers with 16 points, six assists, and three steals. Charlotte has been vulnerable to shooting guards this season, giving up a healthy amount of points and three-pointers. Before scoring 16 against the Lakers, he scored at least 23+ in four of five games. LaVine had his most efficient month of the season in March and I expect him to finish it strong against the Hornets tonight.

For whatever reason, he has not played well against the Hornets this season but Chicago needs wins and he needs to step up.

Klay Thompson- SG/SF, GSW vs. SAS (FD: $7,000, DK: $6,800)

Mr. Thompson should eat tonight against a bad Spurs defense. He's hit at least five three-pointers in four of his last five games and three straight. San Antonio ranks in the bottom half in opponent three-pointers made per game, which is music to a player like Klay Thompson's ears. He has a great ability to get hot and it feels like a big game is loading.

Jabari Smith Jr.- PF, HOU vs. DET (FD: $6,500, DK: $6,400)

Smith has had double-doubles in back-to-back games and I want to capitalize on his strong play. He's averaged over 33 DK points per game in his last six while averaging 14 field goal attempts per game. Houston's season is over but just like Detroit is doing with Jaden Ivey, you might as well let your highly coveted draft pick get some good run.

Jalen Smith- PF/C vs. OKC (FD: $5,400, DK: 5,300)

Myles Turner is questionable to play in this one but I have a feeling he will sit out. This opens the door for Smith, who has played 20+ minutes in his last three games. Isaiah Jackson started instead of Smith last game but Smith played better and should get a chance to start again if Turner is out.

In only 19 minutes, he had 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists. What was encouraging is he was 8/15 from the floor. The 15 field goal attempts were tied with Andrew Nembhard for the second-most on the Pacers that night. If he can find 20+ minutes, possibly more, he should be a productive cheaper option in the F/C range.

Other to target: Jalen Williams (FD: $7,600, DK: $7,500), Scottie Barnes (FD: $8,000, DK: $7,000), Draymond Green (FD: $7,000, DK: $6,500)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers  - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Evan Mobley- PF/C, CLE @ NYK (FD: $9,000, DK: $8,600)

Mobley goes up against a Knicks defense that has been great at defending big men. Julius Randle is hurt and out for at least two weeks and I think that will hinder New York's defense. The Cavs' big man has had some huge performances as of late and is becoming more comfortable on the offensive end. His assists numbers are also increasing with at least three assists in six straight games. Statistically, Mobley can be an all-around monster and he is starting to show that more consistently.

Nicolas Claxton- C, BRK vs. ATL (FD: $7,600, DK: $7,100)

If you were looking for points, rebounds, and blocks, you came to the right place. Claxton has been playing well in his last 11 games, scoring double-digit points in 10 of 11 and grabbing at least eight rebounds in 10 of 11. The Nets center has swatted at least three shots in four straight games. He's been super solid and has gone over 32 DK points in his last 12 games. According to OPRK on DraftKings, the Hawks are only 23rd in defending centers, making this an excellent spot for Claxton.

Others to target: Nikola Vucevic (FD: $8,600, DK: $8,100)
