DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (12/4/22): NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on December 4th, 2022. Kyle Ringstad provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

There are six games on the docket in the NBA tonight and plenty of appealing spots to target in DFS lineups, particularly in the Bulls-Kings game and on the Celtics, Grizzlies, and Trail Blazers. Three teams are playing in the second half of back-to-back sets and the list of questionable players includes Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Tyrese Haliburton, and a smattering of role players. Make sure to keep an eye out for updates as the day moves along. Let's get to it.

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on 12/4/22. Keep an eye on RotoBaller’s NBA injury news and also our full NBA injury report today to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Ja Morant, vs. DET (FD: $9,900, DK: $10,500)

Featured Promo: New Novig users get a $25 purchase match (50% discount up to $25) on your first Novig deposit, and 6 free months of RotoBaller's "Big-4" Premium Pass (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL) which includes exclusive tools for Betting, Props, DFS and more! CLAIM IT NOW

Both sites did a great job pricing the high-end salary pool for tonight's slate as it's difficult to distinguish which star players are in the best spots to reach and exceed value. I'm siding with Morant as my priority spend-up option as he has a great chance for a ceiling output going up against the lowly Pistons. Morant has underwhelmed in his last two games, finishing with 43 and 40.75 DK points against the Sixers and Wolves, respectively. However, he put up 65 DK points three games ago and that's the type of game we're looking for out of him tonight. The Pistons allow the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams and the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards, so as long as this game stays close (MEM -6.5), Morant should eat.

Zach LaVine, vs. SAC (FD: $7,300, DK: $7,100)

LaVine feels underpriced here. He needs just 35.5 DK points to hit 5x value and he has finished at or above that number in eight of his last 11 games played. He hasn't shown an impressive ceiling as most of his production comes from scoring these days, but this is the type of game environment where LaVine can (and should) thrive. This will be a fast-paced game with extra possessions to be had as both teams rank in the top nine in the NBA in pace, and that typically benefits the guards and the volume shooters the most. The Kings rank 22nd in defensive rating and have allowed the fifth-best opponent shooting percentage (48.5%) and opponent three-point percentage (37.3%) to this point.

Also consider: Darius Garland, Jalen Brunson, Dillon Brooks, John Konchar, Marcus Smart, Malik Monk, Kyrie Irving

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Keegan Murray, vs. CHI (DK: $3,600)

Murray projects to play significant minutes in the best game environment on the board tonight. He followed up a 21 DK point showing on Wednesday with an extremely impressive 38.25 DK point performance over 28 minutes last night. This game will be fast-paced and the Bulls struggle to defend opposing forwards as they allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing power forwards and the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing small forwards. The rookie is well worth taking fliers on at his dirt-cheap salary.

Jerami Grant, vs. IND (FD: $8,200, DK: $7,300)

Grant is a great mid-range option for tournaments tonight. The public will gravitate toward playing Anfernee Simons after he went nuclear for 59.5 DK points and 45 real-life points last night against Utah, but getting to Grant at a cheaper price point and lower rostership is the smart play here. He needs 36.5 DK points to hit 5x value tonight; he has hit that number in five consecutive games while averaging 46 DK points per game in that stretch. The Pacers allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing teams this season - this game is a sneaky one to target on the Blazers' side and I'm prioritizing both Grant and 'Nurk' in all formats.

Also consider: Javonte Green, Deni Avdija, Kyle Kuzma, Jaren Jackson Jr., DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Huerter

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Jusuf Nurkic, vs. IND (FD: $6,500, DK: $6,600)

Nurkic put up his fourth game with at least 40 DK points in his last five games last night, but his salary stayed the same on FanDuel and dropped by $100 on DraftKings. We're going back to the well with the Blazers' big man tonight as he should feast on a Pacers' frontcourt that has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing centers this season. They're allowing the most real-life points and the sixth-most rebounds per game to the position, and those are the two stats where Nurkic flourishes.

Also consider: Mitchell Robinson, Nicolas Claxton, Nikola Vucevic, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis
