Daily League Fantasy Baseball Lineup Card: May 3, 2013

Click here to read the best sit-start advice on choosing your salary cap team and setting your lineup in Daily Fantasy Baseball Leagues for May 3, 2013.

In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on whom to start in your daily fantasy lineups. For now, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel.  They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Our job here at RotoBaller is to make your daily fantasy gaming experience a fun and successful one. Whether you are new to the daily fantasy scene or have been playing for years, our columns will be up-to-date and useful for all levels of experience. If you are new to the scene, tweet me at @RotoCole and I will personally show you the ropes. Let’s win together. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for all games on May 3rd, 2013:

While our lineup didn't blow anyone away yesterday, it should've been enough for mostly everyone to double up. Play of the day Nate McLouth didn't disappoint, going 2-5 with a home run and 2 RBI. The dynamic duo in Detroit did well and Kyle Kendrick got 14 solid fantasy points for us as well. All was good enough for us to double up in most leagues.

I've put a lot of research into today's advice so I have extremely high hopes today.

IMG 9762 Carlos BeltránTGIF Plays of the Day: OF Carlos Beltran ($3,700) and OF Dominic Brown ($2,800) - Beltran is 23-42 with 4 HR, 12 RBI, 11 BB, and 5 SB in his career against Kyle Lohse. That is a pretty large sample size to go off of. It's an example where BvP stats actually mean something substantial. I also had to list Dom Brown as a must-play because of his 3 hits last night, including a HR, and he faces RHP Ricky Nolasco tonight, against whom Brown is 5-9 thus far in his career. I'm starting both bargain outfielders tonight.

RotoCole's Fanduel Lineup:

P: Doug Fister ($6,800) - He's Mr. Consistent and he'll face one of baseball's worst offenses. He'll be a popular start so you might want to instead consider rolling with Minor, Masterson, or even Pettibone tonight.
C: Carlos Santana ($4,500) - Santana doesn't get much recognition but the dude is awesome. He is hitting .424 so far this season off of lefties and tonight he will face a young, inexperienced one in Pedro Hernandez (who is nowhere near as good as one might expect of the lovechild of Pedro Martinez and Felix Hernandez). Santana is expensive but very worth it tonight in this juicy matchup.
1B: Ryan Howard ($3,300) - The Big Piece (easily the worst nickname in sports) has some good history on his side against Ricky Nolasco, with 3 of his 8 hits leaving the yard. Combine that with the fact that he just homered yesterday and I'm taking the  hot-hitting Howard tonight.
2B: Ian Kinsler ($4,500) - Riding an 8-game hitting streak and is 3-5 in his career against Felix Doubront.
3B: Mike Moustakas ($2,900) - He's cheap and he has either an RBI or an extra base hit in each of his last 5 games.
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera ($3,300) - The second-best Cabrera in the AL Central has actually looked pretty good lately. He's swinging a hot bat and will face the same sorry lefty his teammate Carlos Santana gets to face.
OF: Dominic Brown ($2,800) - PLAY OF THE DAY
OF: Carlos Beltran ($3,700) - PLAY OF THE DAY
OF: Josh Hamilton ($3,200) - I am officially the crazy ex-girlfriend who keeps coming back. But at just $3.2k, I think he is worth the risk.
