Daily Fantasy WNBA Lineup Picks (8/8/17): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings

Dennis Clausen's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/8/17. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

After a Monday off, the WNBA returns on Tuesday with a three game slate that includes Breanna Stewart and the Storm going up against Jonquel Jones and the Sun. Sylvia Fowles and Tina Charles will also be in action.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/8/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. All "fantasy points" and salary references are exclusive to the DraftKings scoring system. As always, check player statuses prior to lock time.

Follow me on Twitter and feel free to leave me a comment @Den_Clausen. Let's get started!

WNBA - DFS Guards for DraftKings

Layshia Clarendon - G, Atlanta Dream vs Minnesota Lynx ($10,200)

Layshia Clarendon put up nearly 35 fantasy points during Atlanta's last encounter with Minnesota last week. Clarendon scored 18 points, dished out five assists and had four steals against a Lynx team that has been giving up a lot of points to guards as of late. Tiffany Hayes appears to have sacrificed some minutes at the expense of the newly acquired Tamera Young so Clarendon may be a less risky option and is only priced a tad higher.

Jewell Lloyd - G, Seattle Storm @ Connecticut Sun ($9,400)

If you don't want to get caught up in the fiasco of trying to decide who to play in the crowded backcourts of Indiana, New York and Atlanta, Jewell Lloyd is as efficient and routinely productive as they come. She has played fantastic all season, averaging 17 points per game so far this season. She has had Connecticut's number all season and has put up at least 31 points in each the Storm's two meetings against the Sun. If you start to have anxiety attacks over who to play at guard on Tuesday night, save yourself the hassle and look to Lloyd to save you some stress.

Brittany Sykes - G, Atlanta Dream vs Minnesota Lynx ($9,100)

I am not completely opposed to playing Tiffany Hayes but I have my reservations as mentioned previously. Brittany Sykes is less costly and seems to be a focal point of Atlanta as they look towards the future. The probable rookie of the year has really turned it on as of late and has not taken less than 12 shots a game all season. She went an inneficient 4-for-17 against Minnesota last week but the probability of that happening again is likely small.

Seimone Augustus - G, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($7,000)

With the injury to Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus will have to step it up even more for the Lynx. Minnesota has been running relatively thin and doesn't really ask of much from their bench so expect Augustus to be heavily involved even more so than she was before. Last week against Atlanta, Augustus had 14 points and 10 assists and it wouldn't be out of the question for her to do that again on Tuesday night.

Other notable players to consider:

Sue Bird - G, Seattle Storm @ Connecticut Sun ($7,800)

Courtney Williams - G, Connecticut Sun vs Seattle Storm ($6,400)

Alex Bentley - G, Connecticut Sun vs Seattle Storm ($5,200)

Bria Hartley - G, New York Liberty vs Indiana ($4,600)

Jazmon Gwathmey - G, Indiana Fever @ New York Liberty ($3,300)

***Keep an eye on Jasmine Thomas (ankle) status prior to tip-off before considering Courtney Williams***

WNBA - DFS Forwards for DraftKings

Breanna Stewart - F, Seattle Storm @ Connecticut Sun ($13,500)

The only thing wrong with Breanna Stewart on Tuesday night is the price. Are you willing to spend $13,500 for one player? Though we can question the price, we can't question her play this season. The Uconn alum is averaging 20 points and nine rebounds and is fresh off a 60 fantasy point performance against San Antonio last week.

Sylvia Fowles - F, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($13,500)

The only thing wrong with Sylvia Fowles on Tuesday night is the price. Wait a second, I feel like I wrote that about someone else. In any event, Fowles is also having a tremendous season much like Breanna Stewart and is the leading candidate for MVP. Atlanta is just not a very good team, to put it in the nicest way possible so expect Fowles to impose her dominance against them.

Jonquel Jones - F, Connecticut Sun vs Seattle Storm ($12,400)

Jonquel Jones has hit at least 32 fantasy points in each of Connecticut's two meetings with the Storm thus far this season. If you like to analyze price versus value, it isn't really that good. But in the land of fantasy, I'll take 32 points any day of the week.

Tina Charles - F, New York Liberty vs Indiana Fever ($12,300)

Tina Charles is really good. I won't bore you with stats and reasons why she is going to put up a lot of fantasy points against Indiana on Tuesday. I've done the research, she's a good pick against a team that isn't really that good either.

Other notable players to consider:

Maya Moore - F, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($11,700)

Alyssa Thomas - F, Connecticut Sun vs Seattle Storm ($10,000)

Rebekkah Brunson - F, Minnesota Lynx @ Atlanta Dream ($7,400)

Sancho Lyttle - F, Atlanta Dream vs Minnesota Lynx ($7,300)
