Daily Fantasy WNBA Lineup Picks (8/4/17): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings

Dennis Clausen's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/4/17. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

After a week of minimal action, the WNBA has a five game slate on tap to kick off the weekend including Tina Charles and the Liberty taking on Nneka Ogwumike and the Sparks.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/4/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. All "fantasy points" and salary references are exclusive to the DraftKings scoring system. As always, check player statuses prior to lock time.

Follow me on Twitter and feel free to leave me a comment @Den_Clausen. Let's get started!

WNBA - DFS Guards for DraftKings

Courtney Vandersloot – G, Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever ($10,100)

Since this is DraftKings scoring, we will look for any opportunity to get bonus points. When we think of double-doubles, Courtney Vandersloot comes to mind. Vandersloot has had a double-double in three out of her last four contests and has a pretty good chance at another against an Indiana team that gives up the third most points in the league.

Diana Taurasi – G, Phoenix Mercury @ Connecticut Sun ($9,900)

Diana Taurasi continues to shoulder the load on a Brittney Griner-less Phoenix Mercury team. She leads the league in three-pointers and continues to prove why she is one of the best players in the history of the league. Connecticut is struggling to defend the deep-ball this season so look for Taurasi to take advantage of that.

Allie Quigley – G, Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever ($9,300)

Speaking of struggling to defend the three, Indiana has given up a league worst 38 percent from behind the arch this season which could mean that Allie Quigley is in store for a fantastic night, at least on paper. Quigley has gone 10-for-16 from downtown over the past three games and is also averaging 20 points during that same span. If you can stack Quigley and Courtney Vandersloot together, go for it.

Jewell Lloyd – G, Seattle Storm @ Dallas Wings ($8,700)

Seattle has been playing a very thin lineup as of late which means more opportunity for players like Jewell Lloyd to see more minutes as well as take more shots. Lloyd has been playing wonderfully over the past few games which included a 27 point outing against Dallas a little under a week ago and the team she will be facing again on Friday.

Other names to consider on Friday:

Sue Bird – G, Seattle Storm @ Dallas Wings ($7,900)

Kayla McBride – G, San Antonio Stars vs Washington Mystics ($7,500)

Kristi Toliver – G, Washington Mystics @ San Antonio Stars ($7,200)

Shavonte Zellous – G, New York Liberty @ Los Angeles Sparks ($7,100)

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt – Washington Mystics @ San Antonio Stars $6,000)

Monique Currie – Phoenix Mercury @ Connecticut Sun ($5,700)

WNBA - DFS Forwards for DraftKings

Breanna Stewart – F, Seattle Storm @ Dallas Wings ($13,400)

There is a reason why Breanna Stewart is priced so high on Friday night. Dallas is playing absolutely terrible on the defensive end this season and gives up the most points per game this season. Stewart can do it all and will showcase her talents against a Wings team that is not equipped to stop her. She is averaging nearly 20 points and two blocks per game this season that has been complimented by a 36 percent average from behind the arch. Make sure that she is the focal point of your lineup on Friday night.

Jonquel Jones – F, Connecticut Sun vs Phoenix Mercury ($12,400)

Fearing a stalemate between Tina Charles, Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker, I am deciding to favor Jonquel Jones instead over a team that is missing their defensive identity since the injury to Brittney Griner. I am not saying the three mentioned won’t produce, I just prefer to play it safe. Phoenix is having issues on the inside since Griner’s absence and has also been struggling in the rebounding department. Jones leads the league with just over 11 boards a game and could see that average increase after Friday night.

Alyssa Thomas – F, Connecticut Sun vs Phoenix Mercury ($10,500)

If you choose not to pay up for Breanna Stewart, you have a nice stacking opportunity by way of Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas. Thomas has narrowly missed hitting 40 fantasy points per game over the past two contests and may actually hit that mark by the time the night is over on Friday.

Emma Meesseman – F, Washington Mystics @ San Antonio Stars ($9,600)

Another player who could have an efficient night on Friday is Emma Meesseman. Washington will be without Elena Delle Donne for the next few weeks so look for Meesseman to step it up. She has hit at least 50 fantasy points in two out of her last three games and will be the focal point of the Mystic’s offense in the absence of Delle Donne.

Other names to consider on Friday night:

Stefanie Dolson - F, Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever ($9,000)

Jessica Breland - F, Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever ($8,100)

Crystal Langhorne - F, Seattle Storm @ Dallas Wings ($8,000)

Krystal Thomas - F, Washington Mystics @ San Antonio Stars ($7,700)

Dearica Hamby- F, San Antonio Stars vs Washington Mystics ($5,600)

Jantel Lavender - F, Los Angeles Sparks vs New York Liberty (4,500)

Tianna Hawkins - F, Washington Mystics @ San Antonio Stars ($4,300)
