Daily Fantasy WNBA Lineup Picks (8/11/17): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings

Dennis Clausen's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 8/11/17. Expert WNBA DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for DraftKings.

The WNBA features a two game slate on Friday night including a potential WNBA finals preview and rematch between the Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/11/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. All "fantasy points" and salary references are exclusive to the DraftKings scoring system. As always, check player statuses prior to lock time.

Follow me on Twitter and feel free to leave me a comment @Den_Clausen. Let's get started!

WNBA - DFS Guards for DraftKings

Layshia Clarendon – G, Atlanta Dream vs New York Liberty ($9,500)

Layshia Clarendon is one of the few high points on the Atlanta roster this season. Though she has experienced a minor decrease in production over the past few games, she should always be considered in daily fantasy lineups due to her potential of hitting a double-double any time she steps on the court. We all know DraftKings awards bonuses for that sort of thing but the real question still remains, do we want to spend that much on a guard when we have so many high-priced, efficient options at forward on Friday night?

Chelsea Gray – G, Los Angeles Sparks @ Minnesota Lynx ($8,400)

With the Lynx being down the defensively effective Lindsay Whalen, it opens the door for Chelsea Gray to do some damage. While Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore will be busy with the tandem of Nneka Ogwumike and Candace Parker, Gray has the potential to put up some fantasy points. She is averaging 14 points on nearly 11 shots per contest so you can expect her to continue to be heavily involved in the Sparks offensive plans. She could be a difference maker on Friday night. I’m calling a Sparks win by the way.

Brittney Sykes – G, Atlanta Dream vs New York Liberty ($8,200)

I don’t hate Tiffany Hayes but I have a hard time justifying her price when Layshia Clarendon is priced just a tad higher and Chelsea Gray and Brittney Sykes are priced lower. I expect both Gray and Sykes to perform better on Friday night so I’m going to omit Hayes from this post. In any event, Sykes put up 33 fantasy points against New York at the beginning on July so the potential is there for her to have another productive outing. She has been shooting like garbage over the past few games but if she can get a few more of those shots to drain, then she will be ok.

Shavonte Zellous – G, New York Liberty @ Atlanta Dream ($7,100)

If you are having trouble paying for any of the above names, check out Shavonte Zellous. Out of all of the Liberty guards, she is by far the most consistent and least risky. She also has a chance to throw in a steal or two against a team that has been having some issues taking care of the ball this season.

Bria Holmes – G, Atlanta Dream vs New York Liberty ($4,000)

Spent all of your cash of Sylvia Fowles or Candace Parker? Bria Holmes is somewhat of a risky play but she does have a big upside for her asking price. She doesn’t play a lot of minutes but for the price, it is not unreasonable for her to hit five times value, which would be 20 fantasy points in her case. If you are in a pinch and looking to separate yourself in tournament play, you have to take some risks.

Other names to consider:

Odyssey Sims – G, Los Angeles Sparks @ Minnesota Lynx ($6,000)

Bria Hartley – G, New York Liberty @ Atlanta Dream ($5,900)

Renee Montgomery – Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks ($5,200)

WNBA - DFS Forwards for DraftKings

Sylvia Fowles – F, Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks ($13,400)

You really can’t set a daily fantasy lineup without at least consider Sylvia Fowles. Though the price tag is a little steep, she generally makes up for it with her all around performances. She can score, rebound, block…she does it all. We know DraftKings gives extra points for certain types of performances and we can expect Fowles to accumulate a double-double on Friday night.

Candace Parker – F, Los Angeles Sparks @ Minnesota Lynx ($13,100)

Candace Parker hasn’t dipped below 40 fantasy points in her past six games. Even against an efficient team such as the Lynx, she will more than likely perform at or around that same mark. There really isn’t much else that can be said about her other than she is worth every dollar on Friday night and will continue to be productive going forward.

Tina Charles – F, New York Liberty @ Atlanta Dream ($12,200)

If you don’t want to spend up on Candace Parker or Sylvia Fowles, Tina Charles is available for slightly less. She started out hot against Indiana but fizzled towards the end of the game but still managed to put up nearly 40 fantasy points. Atlanta is the worst in the league in rebounding so expect Charles, who is averaging nearly 10 boards a game, to take full advantage of that.

Kiah Stokes – F, New York Liberty @ Atlanta Dream ($5,500)

Obviously, if we lived it a perfect world we would have a roster filled with the above names and we would win every time. Unforunately that can’t happen so we are forced to search for different options. If you are short on cash and are looking for a cheaper options with a high upside, keep Kiah Stokes in your back pocket. She has been coming off the bench but has routientely been seeing more minutes that Kia Vaughn. She can score and has had some big games this season where she has had at least 10 rebounds. Friday night may be one of those nights.

Other players to consider:

Nneka Ogwumike – F, Los Angeles Sparks @ Minnesota Lynx ($11,600)

Maya Moore – F, Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks ($11,300)
