Daily Fantasy NASCAR DFS Driver Rankings: Ally 400

Let's get ready for some more NASCAR action! These daily fantasy NASCAR rankings for Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway were determined by a combination of DraftKings and FanDuel prices, and the projected DFS points each driver is expected to earn in this week’s race.

Each week, we'll present you the weekly rankings, followed by some key analysis of those rankings.

NASCAR Rankings Analysis

Welcome to RotoBaller's free driver rankings. This week, we're projecting even more than usual, because we don't yet know the starting grid for this race, so I'll mostly be ranking based on practice results and expected performance.

You'll also notice the DraftKings and FanDuel rankings are the same this week. That's because without the full puzzle here, I'm just ranking these drivers based on how I expect them to perform and not factoring in some of the things I'd usually bring in. Because of that, I didn't really worry about getting into the details of things.

It's also hard to have a lot of commentary on the rankings themselves. Instead, I'm going to just talk about the results from the first practice.

Let's start at the top.

Hendrick Motorsports continues to be really, really fast. They took the first three spots in practice, with William Byron and Kyle Larson running the same speed down to the thousandth at 29.724 seconds.

Chase Elliott was third-fastest. Alex Bowman was the "bad" Hendrick car, as he was only 10th fastest. ONLY. (Hendrick Motorsports is running too well right now. Can it last?)

There were some surprising drivers who ran quick laps. I...did not know how to rank them, but I tended towards putting them a little lower with the assumption that if they were still fast in qualifying, they'd start a little too high to have place differential upside.

Those drivers: Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Tyler Reddick, and Ross Chastain.

Reddick is the guy I feel most comfortable with of those options. I'll probably end up fading Stenhouse if he qualifies anything like he practiced.

In terms of good drivers with slow laps, there were some!

Kyle Busch was 21st in practice. Considering he won the Xfinity race here, I think he's still a solid play.

Kevin Harvick was 22nd practice. I'm actually kinda low on him this week. Don't think he'll have the speed to fight for a win.

Brad K was 26th. Truex was 29th. There could be a lot of place differential upside if they don't find speed in qualifying.

Ryan Preece is fascinating this week. He won the Truck race and was 18th in practice, but does that 37 have the speed to run well in the race. I was cautious with how I ranked him, but I might be a little low on him. Considering there has never been a Cup race here, winning the Truck race Friday seems like a fantasy boost.

Corey LaJoie was 19th in practice. If he bobbles a bit in qualifying, there could be some upside there as a value play. Maybe.
