DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football Friday Slate (10/24/25)

Mike Marteny's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the Friday (10/24/25) slate in Week 9. His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

This Friday's slate is less exciting than last week's, but we still have a nice selection across all conferences. Fox bowed out of the Big Ten matchup this week, as they are carrying the World Series. Instead, we get an ACC tilt. Not all is lost!

We start in Charlotte with North Texas, the next in line to put up video game numbers on the Niners. Cal Enters Sandman in Blacksburg. We close out in Reno with Boise State in town.

In this article, I will provide you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for the DraftKings slate on 10/24/25, starting at 7 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers, highlighting one option at the high, middle, and low ends of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Drew Mestemaker, North Texas ($8.5K)

Mestemaker put up those kinds of stats against UTSA. While the Roadrunners are not a defensive stalwart, they are miles ahead of Charlotte defensively.

The fact that Mestemaker will likely play no more than three quarters hampers his upside a bit, but he didn't play the whole game last week against UTSA either. He'll be the main contributing factor in the blowout. We could easily see another five-touchdown outburst from Mestemaker in this one.

Carter Jones, Nevada ($6.6K)

Jones is only two starts deep in his collegiate career, so we're still going to see some mistakes. His best performance came when he took over at quarterback in the second half of the Fresno game and nearly led Nevada to a victory.

He struggled against the Aztecs, but had a nice game in another near-win against New Mexico last week. We would like to see a touchdown or three out of him, which we may get against Boise. The Broncos can score, but they also give up a ton of points. Appalachian State is the only FBS team to score fewer than 25 points on Boise.

Also consider these QBs:

  • Maddux Madsen, Boise State ($8.1K)
  • Kyron Drones, Virginia Tech ($7.8K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Caleb Hawkins, North Texas ($8K)

Hawkins can break any slate because of his work in the passing game. He has at least 33 DraftKings points in three of the six games that he has played in. One of those was his first start against Army.

South Florida is the only team to hold Hawkins under 99 rushing yards. Charlotte has given up at least 20 points against every FBS team this season, and at least 24 to every non-Power 4 team. There are points to be had for this high-flying North Texas offense.

Marcellous Hawkins, Virginia Tech ($5.2K)

The backfield situation for the Hokies is still a bit of a mess, but Terion Stewart is still dealing with a shoulder injury. He's still going to cut into the work of Hawkins because Stewart is the more explosive player, but Hawkins has out-touched Stewart in three of the past four games. There should be plenty of work to go around against Cal.

Also consider these RBs

  • Dylan Riley, Boise State ($6.8K)
  • Kendrick Raphael, California ($6.2K)
  • Caleb Ramseur, Nevada ($5.6K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Wyatt Young, North Texas ($6.6K)

Young has 59.2 DraftKings points in the last two games alone. We'll forgive his slow start. He and Mestemaker are on the same page now, and it shows. That's 13 receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the last two games alone!

Chris Marshall, Boise State ($5.2K)

Latrell Caples is the more explosive of the Boise receivers, but Marshall is far more consistent. He has at least three receptions and 50 yards in each of the last four games. Caples has a higher ceiling, but Marshall is better if you're taking fewer risks in your lineups.

Trond Grizzell, California ($4.3K)

Consistency hasn't been Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele's strong suit. Instead of playing roulette with his arm, take the consistency of his favorite receiver without the turnover risk. Grizzell hasn't scored since Week 1, but he has at least four receptions and 55 yards in each of the last four games. The touchdowns will come.

Marshaun Brown, Nevada ($3.4K)

Brown has become the favorite target of the new quarterback, Jones. Brown has eight receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown in the two games that Jones has started. That's great production if you are looking for a nice bargain receiver.

Also consider these WRs:

  • Jacob De Jesus, California ($6.1K)
  • Latrell Caples, Boise State ($5.9K)
  • Javen Nicholas, Charlotte ($4.6K)
  • Jordan King, California ($3K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

North Texas vs. Charlotte

The 49ers are by far the worst defense on the slate. In all honesty, a North Texas stack doesn't cost as much as I thought it would. Some of it is because of the likelihood of a blowout in this game. All of the North Texas skill players got there in a blowout last week.

I feel like a lot of lineups are going to have the core of Mestemaker/Hawkins/Wyatt Young. Getting different from those three, or adding to that core, could be the key to winning tonight.

The key thing to note here is that Miles Coleman is listed on the depth chart after missing last week's game against UTSA. Should Coleman play, he has more receptions than Young so far this season. Mestemaker still threw 35 passes last week, so this offense can sustain two receivers.

The contrarian play is to replace Young with Coleman, or to run both and add in Cameron Dorner. There's a good chance that Dorner stays on the field even after the starters leave.

Boise State vs. Nevada

I know that Charlotte has the worst defense, but Nevada's isn't far behind. DraftKings did their due diligence and made it nearly impossible to afford both a Boise and North Texas stack, so we'll have to plant the flag on one or the other.

As with lineups that start with a North Texas base, we'll see entries with Madsen, Riley, and either Caples or Marshall. You may see lineups with all four.

Instead of adding Matt Lauter for the fifth piece of the stack, I suggest using Sire Gaines. He still gets enough carries to be relevant. Lauter is a lottery ticket at best and hasn't even been that lately.

We could see some lineups out there that use both Mestemaker and Maddux Madsen with Hawkins and Dylan Riley. That still leaves enough capital for receivers. If you want to stack both Boise and North Texas, I found a way, but it may not be pretty.

If you use Mestemaker, Madsen, Riley, Hawkins, Marshall, or Caples, and Young or Coleman, you still have enough left to punt the last two spots. With Marshaun Brown and Jordan King costing only $6.4K combined, a lot of things are possible.

Also consider these other stacks:

  • Virginia Tech
  • Nevada (GPP only)
