ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Cole Irvin has been dominant lately and is worth adding in 12-team or deeper leagues.
Irvin got off to a slow start, allowing nine earned runs across his first two outings. Then, he bounced back in a big way in his third start against the Minnesota Twins on April 15, allowing just two earned runs and striking out four.
Since then, Irvin has been remarkable, tossing 20 consecutive shutout innings (three starts) with a 0.60 WHIP and 11 punchouts.

The 30-year-old southpaw has a strong 52.3% ground-ball rate, which helps him offset his low strikeout numbers. In addition, he carries a stellar 5.1% walk rate, which places him in the top 85th percentile among all qualified pitchers.
While Irvin does not have elite strikeout potential, his ability to generate ground balls and limit free passes makes him a fine addition in deeper 12-team formats.
