Closers (RP) Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Rankings: March Updates Include Mason Miller, Devin Williams

Mason Miller - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Prospects, Draft Sleepers

RotoBaller's closers (RP) dynasty fantasy baseball rankings - the top 10 dynasty closers, updated March 2025. Win more with our dynasty relief pitcher rankings.

Due to the volatility of relief pitchers over the years, fantasy managers usually don't spend a high draft pick on closers in dynasty leagues. For example, Athletics' electric closer Mason Miller is ranked 159th overall in our MLB team's closers dynasty fantasy baseball rankings for relief pitchers, updated as of March for the 2025 fantasy baseball season.

Miller is only 26 years old and was phenomenal last season, racking up 28 saves while posting a 2.49 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 104 strikeouts over 65 innings. Devin Williams missed four months of last season due to fractures in his back but didn't miss a beat when he returned with 14 saves and a 38:11 K:BB across 21 2/3 IP.

The relief pitcher/closer rankings below are specifically designed for dynasty leagues. Whether you're building for the future or trying to win it all this year, RotoBaller has you covered with our dynasty fantasy baseball articles, which are updated all year round by our dynasty league experts, Eric Cross and Chris Clegg. 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlooks For Closers

Mason Miller, Athletics

Athletics reliever Mason Miller will enter the 2025 season as the Athletics' unquestioned closer and one of the best closers in the game. Miller was moved to the bullpen in the spring of 2024, which paid immediate dividends for the team.

The righthander posted two wins, 28 saves, a 2.49 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP, and 104 strikeouts in 65 innings. Some pundits have questioned his role in 2025, but there doesn't seem to be any team discussion about moving Miller back to the rotation.

Miller had a whopping 41.8%K%, which was in the 100th percentile in all of MLB. His average fastball velocity was 100.9 MPH, good for the 100th percentile. Look for Miller to continue his dominance for the Athletics this year, as there is no reason to think he will slump in 2025.

Miller could be one of the first five closers off the board in drafts this spring. If not in the top five, he will be a top 10 closer pick.

Devin Williams, New York Yankees

After the annual winter meetings, the New York Yankees made a big splash by acquiring the top closer on the market from the Milwaukee Brewers, Devin Williams. The veteran righty spent the first half of the 2024 season on the injured list with fractures in his back.

He returned in late July and reclaimed the top role in the Milwaukee bullpen, earning one win with 14 saves, a 1.25 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 21 innings, and looked healthy. Williams will now ply his trade in the Bronx, where his addition allows Luke Weaver to pitch in a high-leverage setup role.

With health, look for Williams to earn 30+ saves with a high volume of strikeouts and pristine rations for what seems to be an improving Yankees squad.

-- Mike Carter - RotoBaller

Emmanuel Clase, Cleveland Guardians

Cleveland Guardians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase enters 2025 coming off of his best big-league campaign yet. The closer logged 47 saves with a pristine 0.61 ERA and 0.66 WHIP over 74 ⅓ innings, all of which were career-high marks. Seasons like this are possible when great talent meets great fortune.

Clase doesn't need luck to achieve an elite form, but a .195 BABIP despite a 57 percent groundball rate helped secure such low ratios. That BABIP was 100 points lower than 2023's mark and roughly 50 points below his career rate.

Some of that "luck" was actually a 98th-percentile hard-hit rate of 29.7 percent, but his .214 expected batting average against was actually lower in both 2021 and '22. This is not to say he was anything but electrifying on the bump, but it helps put his ATC projection of 2.65 ERA/1.03 WHIP in perspective.

Clase will hit his age-27 season with an unmatched workload, with his 226 games over the last three seasons standing 13 contests above the next RP. Drafters will also note a strikeout rate below 25 percent in back-to-back years, but the dependable volume with a track record of incredible ratios still paints him as both the ADP market and our No. 1 reliever off the board.
