Caris LeVert is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 17 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: Where Caris LeVert will be playing basketball by the end of next week, nobody knows. That's because the Cavs have a loaded backcourt in which LeVert is probably the odd man out nightly and going forward, something that for someone as talented and skilled as he is, might not quite be a good fit--not at least one that he likes. On top of that, the Cavs might want to boost other parts of their gameplan by moving a piece that feels like a surplus on their rotation nowadays.
The risk of moving LeVert is obvious, though, and goes by missing any of Donovan Mitchell/Darius Garland for some time and not having a top-tier backup. LeVert has started five of his last eight games played, though he's been out since January 31 with hamstring soreness. Nothing too concerning looking ahead, though.
In that eight-game span since getting injured, CLV was averaging a stat line close to reading 13-3-5-1, and that includes a silly two-point game back on January 27 when he shot 1-of-12 from the field against the Thunder starting at SG and logging 38 (!) minutes of play then and there.
LeVert can contribute a bit of everything with most of his upside coming on the scoring front boosted by a fantastic beyond-the-arc shooting prowess. The turnovers per game are at 1.5 TOPG through the season but have not topped one in six games and counting, in case you're part of a league formatted to have TOs negatively impacting fantasy outcomes.
