BALLER MOVE: Add in 15+ Team Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: Friday, July 19
ANALYSIS: The basement-dwelling White Sox have called up infielder Brooks Baldwin from Triple-A and started him at second base last night in their first game back from the All-Star Break.
Baldwin played second base and went 1-3 at the plate on Friday night. He's eligible at 3B, SS, and OF in Yahoo leagues and has played all over the diamond during his minor league career - giving him some versatility to fill in wherever Chicago needs him.
Brooks Baldwin singles in his first major league at-bat 👏
— Sox On 35th (@SoxOn35th) July 20, 2024
The 23-year-old Baldwin started the season at Double-A but was promoted to Triple-A earlier this month after hitting .322 and swiping 16 bases. He continued to swing a hot bat at Triple-A, posing a .345 average and 1.096 OPS in just eight games before getting the call to Chicago.
Baldwin is rostered in just 1% of Yahoo leagues currently and is only an add in deep formats at the moment. He should get a chance to play pretty often for the White Sox, especially if they end up dealing some of their regular starters before the trade deadline.
Keep an eye on him, he can hit for average and steal some bases. The multi-positional versatility gives him some upside in both real life and in fantasy baseball leagues.
