Brock Bowers fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2024). Should you start or sit Brock Bowers for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: High-End TE2
ANALYSIS: Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers enters the NFL as one of the most pro-ready players at his position in recent memory, but that doesn't mean he should instantly be considered a top fantasy option, especially as he's currently dealing with a foot injury.
#Raiders HC Antonio Pierce on whether he expects Brock Bowers (foot) to play Week 1:
“Yeah, I feel really good about that, to be honest.”
Pierce has a 60% reliability rating on injury coachspeak (low sample size), but he’s been more reliable when expressing a high level of… pic.twitter.com/V7BpvK4T79

Tight end has long been the toughest skill position when it comes to translating to the pros. Good tight ends often struggle to make an impact in their rookie campaigns.
Bowers is a huge talent. This is a player who caught 13 touchdowns as a freshman in the SEC and who has the athleticism to play at various spots on the field. If anyone can enter the NFL and make an immediate impact at TE, it's this guy.
Still, you can never trust a rookie tight end in Week 1. For as much upside as Bowers has, he should be viewed as a high-end TE2 until we have some tape on him to analyze.
