MLB Home Run Player Prop Bets Today: Best Hitter HR Props (6/20/2025)

Nick Kurtz - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Kipp Heisterman's best MLB player prop bets for today (6/20/2025). Bet his home run props (HR props) and win money betting on MLB player props, including Brandon Lowe, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Yainer Diaz, and Nick Kurtz.

We have a full slate of games for Friday's MLB action. We have plenty of games with great hitter matchups, great ballparks for home runs, and great weather. The weather is especially warming up, which usually means good things for home run opportunities.

I will provide my four favorite home run bets on today’s slate. I do not recommend betting any more than four home runs, as it will be tough to sustain a bankroll. My favorite way to bet home runs is to round robin them, which I will do tonight. I've put a small unit size on these, but I want the opportunity to cash in bigger if more than one home run hits.

Below, you'll read about my favorite home run props from MLB games on Friday, June 20, 2025. Odds for each pick are from DraftKings Sportsbook and are subject to change throughout the day. Remember to shop around at other sportsbooks for the best price, which gives you more value on your bets. It's also important to risk only a small portion of your bankroll on home run props since this market is volatile, so keep that in mind.

MLB Prop Bets - Today's Home Run Prop Picks (6/20/2025)

Here are all the hitters I'll cover for HR props on Friday, June 20:

Brandon Lowe OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+310 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Brandon Lowe checks several of the boxes mentioned above. He has a very solid matchup, a solid minor league park to play in, and great warm weather to hit in in the great city of Tampa at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Let's start with the solid matchup against Detroit Tigers right-hander Jack Flaherty. Surprisingly enough, Flaherty has allowed 14 home runs, with eight of these home runs coming against left-handed hitters. The hard contact is not quite as high as expected with these home run numbers, but he has allowed an average exit velocity of 81.5 mph, which ranks him in the bottom third of the league.

Lowe has been raking over the past week, posting a 1.321 OPS with two home runs. He does a ton of his damage against right-handed pitching as well. On the season, Lowe has posted an .889 OPS with 13 of his 15 home runs coming against them. To no one's surprise, Lowe also loves hitting at Steinbrenner Field, given his .807 OPS and 11 home runs.

The power Lowe has shown has proved to be real, and he is posting an average exit velocity of 92.1 mph, ranking him in the top 10% of the league. He has also posted a superb 40.5% hard-hit rate, which ranks him in the top 8% of the league. The weather is expected to be in the mid-to-upper 80s as well, which should boost his bat just a tad.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+350 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will be playing at Coors Field tonight, so we will not be getting any discounts with the odds set at +350, but aside from playing on the moon, Gurriel does have a lot of good stuff working in his favor tonight.

First, Gurriel will be up against Colorado Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber, who has been an absolute home run machine over his career. Since 2023, Gomber has allowed a whopping 56 home runs, 40 of which have come against right-handed hitters. While he had a solid first outing of the season last week against the Atlanta Braves, this is a guy who has posted a HR/FB% higher than 13.5% in each of the previous four seasons.

Meanwhile, Gurriel has been trucking along in recent weeks as he is posting an .823 OPS over the previous 21 days. He has especially been solid against left-handed pitching over his career, as noted by his .836 OPS since 2023. Although only three of his home runs have come against left-handed pitching this season, Gurriel has homered off Gomber once in just 14 PA.

Yainer Diaz OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+450 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Yainer Diaz has helped me out with some props bets recently, so we are going to see if we can land him with a home run tonight in what should be a fun matchup against the Los Angeles Angels.

Diaz has been absolutely on fire lately, as noted by his .803 OPS over the previous seven days. He has also smacked four home runs and posted an .801 OPS over the previous 21 days. Diaz will be up against Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, which could be good news as well.

Diaz has hit left-handed pitching very well in 2025, having posted an .855 OPS up to this point in the season. Three of his nine home runs have also come off left-handed pitching.

Kikuchi, meanwhile, has allowed a total of nine home runs this season, all of which have come off right-handed sticks. This should come as no surprise, as Kikuchi has been prone to allowing home runs to right-handed hitters. Since 2023, he has given up a total of 61 home runs, 51(!) of which have come against right-handed hitters.

The weather in Anaheim should also be in the mid-70s, which is typical of this time of year, but we should also get a wind blowing out at around 8 mph. While this is not a massive boost to bats, it is certainly worth noting for Diaz's chances of going deep tonight.

Nick Kurtz OVER 0.5 Home Runs (+400 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Nick Kurtz is without question my favorite player in this article, and that is saying something, as he will be going up against my Cleveland Guardians' Tanner Bibee. While Bibee can have his fair share of stellar outings, he is also quite prone to the long ball.

On the season, Bibee has allowed a total of 14 home runs, eight of which have come against left-handed hitters. The home runs are nothing new, as Bibee has allowed a total of 49 home runs since 2023. Bibee has especially struggled on the road this season, giving up over two HR/9, and things are not going to get much easier at Sutter Health Park.

Kurtz has burst on the scene for the Athletics this season. Over the previous seven days, Kurtz has ripped four home runs while posting a 1.126 OPS. He has mashed a total of nine home runs across just 146 PA and has superb numbers against right-handed pitching. Overall vs. righties, Kurtz has posted a .928 OPS with eight dingers.

The power metrics also back up his pop, as he has posted a hard-hit rate of 38.8% and an average exit velocity of 92.6 mph. These metrics rank him in the top 12% and 6% of the league, respectively. Kurtz has also been a monster at Sutter Health Park, where he has smacked seven of his nine home runs while posting an OPS of 1.027.

There is quite a bit of home cooking to like here for him, and the weather is also expected to be warm as usual, which could lead to some additional pop.

Thanks for checking out my home run props today at RotoBaller, good luck if you are tailing any or all of these bets!
