ANALYSIS: Since the All Star Break, Bailey Ober has produced excellent ratios (2.81 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) and struck out 40 batters while walking only six in his 41.2 IP. That he only has one win in that span is a reflection of the Twins keeping a tight lid on his pitch count and the team's general hopelessness in 2021. The latter will remain settled, but there's evidence that the former may be less of a concern moving forward in that Ober has completed six innings in two of his last three appearances.
The 26-year-old next toes the rubber in a Labor Day road tilt against Cleveland, and lines up for the Royals at home after that. Both of those opponents rank in the bottom half of MLB in runs scored.
