Justin Fields' time in Chicago might be coming to an end. Last year, the Chicago Bears passed on the opportunity to draft a quarterback with their first overall pick as they had faith in Fields. They traded that pick to the Carolina Panthers and received DJ Moore, the Panthers' 2023 first- and second-round picks, a 2024 first-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick in return.

The Panthers finished with the worst record in the league last season, and the Bears, who have their first-round draft pick this season, will have the first overall pick in the upcoming draft.

They are expected to draft Caleb Williams, and Fields is likely to get traded before or after the draft. What is the best team for Fields in 2024? Let's take a look at possible landing spots for the Ohio State product.

Best Fits For Justin Fields In 2024

These are the best three fits for Justin Fields if he gets traded by the Chicago Bears in the near future.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers recently released quarterback Mitch Trubisky. They are expected to bring in a new starting quarterback to replace Kenny Pickett, and as per Adam Schefter, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields.

This past season, the Steelers made the playoffs with a record of 10-7, but lost in the Wild Card Round to the Buffalo Bills. The team has great talent on offense with the likes of George Pickens, Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, Najee Harris, and Jaylen Warren.

A quarterback like Fields would certainly enjoy playing with them. Since Arthur Smith is the new Steelers offensive coordinator, this move makes a lot of sense for the Bears QB.

2. Atlanta Falcons

Another team that has been linked with Justin Fields for a long time is the Atlanta Falcons. They are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished with a record of 7-10 and missed the playoffs. They have also replaced Arthur Smith with Raheem Morris and could be aggressive in the offseason.

Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke are not viewed as the solution for the Falcons, which is why they'll be in the market for a new quarterback. The Falcons are likely to pursue Fields, as they also have a plethora of young stars on offense to help out the quarterback.

If Fields ends up in Atlanta, he will play alongside Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts while having the luxury of living close to his hometown of Kennesaw, Georgia.

3. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are also a team that needs a new quarterback. After Bill Belichick's departure, Jerod Mayo was announced as the new head coach and the franchise is set for a fresh start.

The Patriots currently have the third overall pick in the upcoming draft, but there are some reports indicating that the team might trade away that pick. If that is the case, they might look for a quarterback in free agency or via trade.

The Patriots can easily win the bidding war for Fields as they'll recoup enough draft assets after trading away the third overall pick. However, as of now, the Patriots do not have enough talent on offense to help out Fields.

As a result, a move to the Falcons or Steelers will be better for the quarterback, as those teams can bring the best out of him. It will be interesting to see where Fields ends up and if the Bears can get a good trade package for the quarterback they picked with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

 

Justin Fields Fantasy Outlook

This past season, Justin Fields played 13 games in which he threw for 2,562 yards, 16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He had a passer rating of 86.3 and also rushed for 657 yards and four touchdowns on 124 carries.

Fields did show signs of improvement, as the addition of DJ Moore helped him massively. However, with Caleb Williams available on the board, the Bears should draft the USC quarterback and send Fields to a team that can bring the best out of him.

Both the Falcons and the Steelers already have great rosters that are ideal for Fields to thrive. On the other hand, the Patriots have more than $70 million in cap space and can acquire additional draft picks in exchange for the third overall pick, allowing them to build a good roster for their new quarterback.
