Andrew Nembhard is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 23 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: It was very obvious that rookie guard Andrew Nembhard would eventually hit the wall. It seems to be happening this week, with the Pacers' freshman sandwiching a 44-FP between a couple of rather bad outings that yield just 12 and 17 FP through Friday night.
Nembhard keeps starting games for Indy but two of his last three matchups have been truly forgettable. Even putting his games against Charlotte and Boston together and combining his stats in them, Nembhard would have finished with a meager 8-4-92 line on 11 FGA and 53 total minutes of play. Not quite optimal, let's say.
The rookie, though, has scored 22+ points in three of his last five games and 13, 19, and 15 in the three matchups before those. In the last two weeks (eight games) alone, Nembhard is averaging 16-2-6 stat lines on a per-game basis while logging around 31 MPG.
The efficiency has been a bit bouncy but that has more to do with his playing time moving between the high-20s and high-30s on a nightly basis than anything he's doing wrong. The shooting percentages are great, the three-point shots keep falling, and although there have been high turnover tallies here and there, it's not that the kid is a TO-machine.
