ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks catching prospect Adrian Del Castillo was promoted to the major league roster in a corresponding move that sent Gabriel Moreno (groin) to the 10-day IL on Tuesday evening.
At Triple-A this season, the Miami product has posted an excellent .319/.403/.608 slash line with 24 home runs, 70 RBI, and a 52:76 BB:K ratio.

Last season through his first look at Triple-A, he struggled with a modest .248/.340/.350 line and just two long balls.
The 24-year-old should split catching duties with switch-hitter Jose Herrera for now but could carve out a starting role if Herrera continues to stay cold at the plate. He has gone 1-for-16 across his past seven starts.
Del Castillo has flashed high-upside power at Triple-A Reno this summer which makes him an intriguing add in deeper formats. Shallow league managers should monitor his playing time over the next few days as he could enter must-add territory by next weekend.
