Washington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov gets the nod in net against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon. The apparent plan for the Russian goaltender was to gradually increase his workload in waves. This will be his fifth start in the last six Washington contests. The goaltender has either yielded zero or three goals in his last seven starts (three shutouts). There has been little in-between. Washington leads the league in shot suppression allowing 27.1 shots per game but Carolina averages nearly 33 shots per 60 at home. Expect Samsonov to earn his keep on Sunday. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
