The Kansas City Royals outrighted infielder Hanser Alberto off the 40-man roster on Friday. Alberto, who elected free agency, hit .270 with a .291 on-base percentage, two home runs, and three stolen bases in 255 plate appearances for Kansas City this past season. The veteran saw most of his starts in 2021 at third base for the Royals, but also saw significant time at both second base and shortstop. Right-handed pitcher Scott Blewett was also outrighted off the 40-man roster. Like Alberto, Blewett elected free agency.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
