Veteran goaltender Thomas Greiss was rock-solid on Saturday night as the Detroit Red Wings upset the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 3-1. He stopped 40 of the 41 shots that he faced during his first regular-season action in 2021-22. Robby Fabbri, Filip Zadina, and Sam Gagner had the goals for Detroit. Greiss is coming off a solid 2020-21 season that saw him post a .912 SV% and 2.70 GAA for a club that struggled on defense. The club made some significant changes to its defense corps during the offseason and now boasts a solid mix of high-upside young players and steady, defensive-minded veterans, which should help Greiss and fellow goalie Alex Nedeljkovic as the season progresses. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
