Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel (neck) has been placed on Injured Reserve as his team opened training camp on Thursday. The 24-year-old was also stripped of his captain label after failing his training camp physical, an expected outcome given his publicized disagreement with Sabres management on how to deal with the herniated disc in his neck. Eichel has been heavily involved in trade rumors throughout the offseason and likely won't provide any fantasy value until he's finally dealt to a new team and is able to get the surgery he desires. The Massachusetts native posted 18 points (two goals, 16 assists), a minus-nine rating and 61 shots on goal in 21 games before getting shut down for the season due to the injury.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
