Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin (knee) will miss at least the first two months of the 2021-2022 season due to injury. The 35-year-old underwent knee surgery back in June and is still recovering. Malkin only played 33 games last season, posting 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) a minus-four rating, nine power-play points and 72 shots. The Russian superstar has really battled durability issues as he's aged -- he's played more than 70 games just once over the past nine seasons. Expect Jeff Carter to jump into the Pens' top-six forward group and hold down the second-line center role with Malkin sidelined.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
