The Detroit Red Wings have come to terms with forward Jakub Vrana on a three-year, $15.75 million contract ($5.25 million average annual value). With the new deal, both sides will avoid an arbitration hearing that was set earlier this month for the former restricted free agent. Acquired in a trade deadline deal with Washington in exchange for forward Anthony Mantha, Vrana was a point-per-game player (eight goals, three assists in 11 games) with the Wings and he also posted a plus-one rating and 32 shots while averaging the most ice time of his career (17:16 time-on-ice per game). The 25-year-old is a core piece to Detroit's rebuild and should be targeted in the mid to late rounds of fantasy drafts this fall.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
