The Cleveland Browns selected Northwestern cornerback Gregory Newsome II with the No. 26 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft on Thursday night. He's the second Northwestern player to go in the first round this year. Newsome wasn't attacked much in coverage in college and must prove that he can stay healthy at the next level. He has great length, athleticism and recovery speed in the secondary. Newsome was glued to receivers in college and has the tools to be a pretty good lockdown cornerback, if he can stay healthy. He doesn't have excellent size, though, which could be a problem against big-bodied receivers in the NFL. Newsome is definitely more of a man-coverage guy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
