Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson is a worthy consideration as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 2 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 35% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Who would have a change of scenery was all Jordan Clarkson needed to thrive as an off-the-bench heater after playing five full seasons in this league? Clarkson was drafted by the Lakers in advance of the 2015 season, stayed three-and-change seasons in Hollywood, and then was traded to Cleveland. Not a bad player, but never anything otherworldly. Until he was sent to Utah last December, almost one exact year to this day (on Dec. 23rd).
The Jazz electro-shocked Clarkson's talents to unseen levels. He became Utah's go-to sixth man off the bench, his scoring went a full point per game up, he shot five-percent better from the floor, boosted his eFG%, and contributed more than a dime and two boards per game.
As it happened last season, Clarkson already had a 25 percent usage rate off Utah's bench in his first game this season, finishing with a 15-7 points and boards line to which he added his casual assist and block. Again, take Clarkson for what he is (a scorer that can make small contributions in other cats sparingly), but consider him a very good addition for free through the WW.
