The National Football League owners approved a proposal on Tuesday to add two playoff teams -- eight in each conference -- if regular season games get cancelled due to COVID-19. If the league has to go to this contingency plan, the league will not re-seed the teams, according to commissioner Roger Goodell. The expanded playoff format would only become a reality if the NFL can't first complete meaningful games rescheduled in a possible Week 18. A potential 18th week of the season was added solely to complete the 256-game schedule before the playoffs begin. As of right now, the 2020 playoffs will be a 14-team, single-elimination tournament, with seven teams taking part in each conference and the top seed from each conference earning the all-important bye on wild-card weekend.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
